I added the question mark to the author's title. There are some very specific predictions from Marshall Masters on what we will see on December 21st, 2012. While I don't share all of his esoteric interpretations (like aliens making crop circles) he does have a lot of data, and is willing to step out on a limb and say we will see two suns in the sky on December 21st. So, at least his hypothesis is testable. It's as easy as looking up in the sky on December 21st.
