A Message of Hope : In These Last Days

Be encouraged brothers and sisters.  There is One Who is good, perfect, holy, pure, given all power and authority.  And He is coming soon.  He will bring true justice to this world we live in.  He is our hope, our only hope.  And He is coming soon, very soon!

"Only Hope" is a Switchfoot song written by Jon Foreman for their 1999 album New Way to Be Human. Despite not seeing a radio single release, it is one of Switchfoot's more popular songs, due to its inclusion and prominence in the 2002 film A Walk to Remember. It is also credited with helping bring Switchfoot to a mainstream audience and consequently sign to a major label.
"Only Hope" was covered by Mandy Moore for the film (arranged and produced by the film's composer Mervyn Warren) and is included in her compilation The Best of Mandy Moore, although left out of her 2001 release. It was slated as the second single after "Cry" which, however, was not a hit and consequently "Only Hope" was not released to radio. A music video--largely a duplicate of the movie--was shot and was released successfully to music channels in Asia.
In the film A Walk to Remember

Jamie sings to Landon during the school play where they fall in love. The song ends when Landon kisses Jamie. Additionally Switchfoot's original version was played towards the end of the movie, transitioning from an orchestral score piece that was influenced by the song and was specifically written to segue into it.

There's a song that's inside of my soul.
It's the one that I've tried to write over and over again
I'm awake in the infinite cold.
But you sing to me over and over and over again.

So, I lay my head back down.
And I lift my hands and pray
To be only yours, I pray, to be only yours
I know now you're my only hope.

Sing to me the song of the stars.
Of your galaxy dancing and laughing and laughing again.
When it feels like my dreams are so far
Sing to me of the plans that you have for me over again.

So I lay my head back down.
And I lift my hands and pray
To be only yours, I pray, to be only yours
I know now, you're my only hope.

I give you my apathy.
I'm giving you all of me.
I want your symphony, singing in all that I am
At the top of my lungs, I'm giving it back.

So I lay my head back down.
And I lift my hands and pray
To be only yours, I pray, to be only yours
I pray, to be only yours
I know now you're my only hope.

Switchfoot - Where I Belong [Subtitulos en EspaƱol]

It's encouraging to know that I'm not the only one that thinks "this land" (the USA) is the Babylon of the last days...and aren't all those who walk in faith in Jesus Christ looking for a "place where we belong"?  (Hebrews 11:13-16)
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.
But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

Where I Belong - Switchfoot

As he sings about "singing these songs on the shores of Babylon", we should start to get the idea that we live in Bablylon, and judgment is not very far off.  Also, our hopes as believers lie in the next world, not this one.  We look to eternal promises and hopes, not temporary ones.   Praise the Lord!

Former CNN Reporter Exposes Network News Fraud

One more reason to ignore the mainstream outlets for news.  If they could just stop lying...

They are literally "selling the news"...

Are Famous Musicians Selling Their Souls to the Devil?

This first video clip from goodfight ministries documents the tale of Robert Johnson, King of the Blues and considered the father of the modern rock movement.  Johnson told anyone who would listen his spontaneously derived guitar/music skills came from a pact he made with the devil.  The devil would give him talent, and eventually receive Johnson's soul.  There are a lot of modern stories like this.

This is a modern take on the still circulating stories of modern artists being offered fame and riches, and all they have to give up is their soul.

This video focuses on Bob Dylan's public admission of his deal with the "chief commander of this world and the one we can't see". We know God makes no deals, so it must be Satan he speaks of in this context. He solidifies this view when he says the deal was made at the crossroads and got him the fame and notoriety he has now. And he's not the only one.

There are many artists who have followed this path that I could share, but few are as honest about it as Melyssa Ford in this interview posted below.
