This is touchy territory for American Christians, but an honest view of scripture reveals that the Lord only gave His support for one form of government. Monarchy. (Read 1 Samuel 8) So what is the problem with republics, or in our case, a democratic republic? Because a republic is easier for a small group to take over by the manipulation of the people. Just look at this election. Only two candidates are put forward by the media, and their major political stances are identical. Either way the people vote, we lose.
The second problem with a republic is that the heart of man is deceitfully wicked (Jer. 17:9), and when men can select their ruler according to their heart, it will not be a good result.
