And they overcame him by the Blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto death. (Rev. 12:11) Watch, and pray

Are You Willing to "Waste" Your Life?
by Jon Bloom
Judas simply could not understand Mary’s ridiculous decision. During dinner she had just taken a jar of expensive perfume and dumped it on Jesus’ feet! That perfume was worth almost a year’s wages. What a waste! Just think what could have been done with that money.
“Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?”
But helping the poor wasn’t really Judas’ concern. “He said this not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief and being in charge of the moneybag he used to help himself to what was put into it” (John 12:6). Judas was Judas’ concern.
John 12 shows Mary and Judas in stark contrast. One “wasted” her costly perfume on Jesus’ feet. The other stole from Jesus’ moneybag.
What was motivating them? Gain. They both pursued the treasure they believed would make them happy. To Mary, Jesus was the Pearl of Great Price, far more precious than money. To Judas, thirty pieces of silver was a fair price for the Pearl.
Once again the Bible beautifully illustrates Christian Hedonism. We pour out our love, our time, our energy, our money—in other words, our worship—on what we treasure most. And when we see others worshiping what we consider less valuable, we view it as a waste.
In Judas’ criticism of Mary we hear what the world thinks of those who give something precious to Jesus. Why this waste? Couldn’t your time or money or mind have been better spent?
To follow Jesus means sometimes choosing to lose what the world sees as gain. Jesus said, “Whoever loves his life loses it. And whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life” (John 12:25). “Hating your life in this world” means foregoing worldly gain to have eternal gain.
The truth is that this kind of life is worship, not waste. Like Mary pouring out her perfume, a life of sacrificial love for Jesus shows how precious he really is. And it preaches to a bewildered world that Christ is gain and the real waste is gaining the world while losing your soul.
So who is telling you that you are wasting your life? The world? Or Jesus? You eventually hear it from one or the other. Whose opinion influences you the most?
That’s why John Piper’s Don’t Waste Your Life is one of my favorite books. It’s a crucial reminder of our need to listen to Jesus when assessing what is valuable. I go back to it repeatedly, especially chapters five (“Risk Is Right—Better to Lose Your Life Than to Waste It”) and seven (“Living to Prove He Is More Precious Than Life”). I need to hear this over and over.
That’s one of the reasons we are encouraging as many people as possible to read this book this year. Desiring God and Crossway Books have teamed up to release a new editition of Don't Waste Your Life along with a 128-page study guide. And we have developed an inexpensive study kit that includes a DVD where John gives brief overviews of each chapter. If you haven’t read this book, now would be a great time to do it, or to re-read it using the study guide. And the kit is an excellent tool to help you lead others through the book.
And to encourage you this month to keep pouring out your perfume on Jesus’ feet, I want to point you to an audio message that John Piper delivered at a conference a couple years ago titled, “Don’t Waste Your Life.” It’s the kind of message to listen to a couple times a year just to help you keep Jesus’ perspective.
I love being able to point you to our free online library of resources to listen messages like “Don’t Waste Your Life.” What a joy! And this ministry of worldwide free online access is completely funded by friends who want others to be nourished and encouraged just like they have been. If you would like to help keep this access free for yourself and others, especially those around the world who can’t afford to pay for such resources, I invite you to give a secure online gift. All donations for “Faith Comes By Hearing” are used specifically to support the online audio and video messages.
One last encouraging thought from John 12.
Jesus put a thief in charge of his moneybag! And he knew exactly what he was doing! Isn’t that remarkable? Jesus showed us by example where not to put our trust. He himself said, “You cannot serve God and money” (Matt. 6:24). Jesus trusted his Father to provide everything he needed so he slept in peace, even knowing that Judas was embezzling.
Here’s the point: When we seek the kingdom first, everything we need will be provided. And our Father can easily out-give what any thief can steal.
Isn’t that good news? We do not need to fear giving lavishly to Jesus. We do not need to fear losing what the world can steal. God will provide all we need. Because he is all we will ever really need.

Are World Leaders Traveling to Afghanistan to View a 5,000 Year Old Flying Machine?
The short answer is, no one knows why world leaders are traveling to Afghanistan. And when no one knows the why of something strange, it won't be long before someone else fills in the answer for them. And the popular fill-in answer for this why is that a vimana, the name of a mystical 5,000 year old flying machine that was historically reported and described in India, has been found in a cave in Afghanistan. You will have to listen to the video to hear the rest.

Powerful 7.3 earthquake strikes along the coast of Colombia: the fifth 7.0 magnitude quake to strike in 45 days
Posted by The Extinction Protocol
September 30, 2012 – COLOMBIA – A strong 7.3 magnitude earthquake struck along the coast of Colombia at a depth of 162.1 km (100.7 miles). The epicenter of the earthquake was 62 km (39 miles) S (176°) from Popayan, Colombia and 345 km (214 miles) from QUITO, Ecuador. According to USGS statistics, about fifteen 7.0 magnitude earthquakes occur each year but there have been five such high intensity earthquakes reported across the planet in the last 45 days, provided the USGS does not downgrade today’s quake further. On August 14, a 7.7 magnitude earthquake was reported in Sea of Okhotsk near NE Russia; on August 27, a 7.3 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of El Salvador; on August 31, a 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck near the Philippine Islands, and on September 5, a 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Costa Rica. Today’s earthquake was originally registered as a 7.4 by the USGS. The director of Colombia’s disaster relief service, Carlos Ivan Marquez, said that there were only reports of minor damage to homes in one village. The temblor shook buildings and rattled windows in 10 central and western provinces, but despite police and firefighters reported no damage. The quake also shook Ecuador’s capital Quito and other parts of the country for about 30 seconds, and was felt particularly in tall buildings in the capital. –The Extinction Protocol
Louisiana sinkhole grows, hits Assumption business and home values
Posted by The Extinction Protocol
September 30, 2012 – LOUISIANA - The sinkhole in Assumption Parish keeps getting bigger. The parish’s director of homeland security and emergency preparedness, John Boudreaux, says a 15-hundred square foot section of the earth caved in last week, pulling down several trees and part of a road. The road that caved in was built to assist in the cleanup efforts. The sinkhole is about four acres in size and has grown since it emerged on August third. 150 homes in two nearby communities are evacuated as a result of the sinkhole. Experts believe an underground brine cavern encased in a salt dome could be the cause of the sink hole. Sonar testing inside the cavern began a few days ago. Boudreaux says an unknown substance was found at the bottom of the cavern. “The substance could be soil and sand that now has entered the cavern that created the sinkhole.” Scientists are still trying to determine precisely why the hole appeared. Residents and businesses in the area are growing increasingly concerned that it may swallow up their investments. The hole filled with sludge and muck as it swallowed hundreds of yards of swampland. Area residents have been worried not only by tremors, possibly caused by natural gas shifting underground in or near the dome, but also by concerns the value of their homes and business could suffer. -WWL

Scientists uncover deadly new virus in Africa
Posted by The Extinction Protocol
September 30, 2012 – DISEASE - A piece of genetic detective work by an international team has uncovered a deadly virus not seen before that likely caused a small isolated outbreak of acute hemorrhagic fever in central Africa in the summer of 2009. The outbreak, in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), killed two people and left one person seriously ill. The researchers have given the deadly pathogen the name Bas-Congo virus (BASV), after the province where the three people lived. They report their work in the 27 September issue of the online open access journal PLoS Pathogens. The 2009 outbreak of acute hemorrhagic fever started when a 15-year-old boy from a village called Mangala in the DCR suddenly got ill and started bleeding from the nose and gums and vomiting blood. He got worse very quickly and died three days later. A week later, a 13-year-old girl who went to the same school as the boy, started with the same symptoms, which also worsened rapidly, and she also died within three days. Then, again, another week after the girl died, a male nurse who had cared for her started with the same symptoms. He was transferred to hospital and survived. The UCSF team leader was Charles Chiu, assistant professor of laboratory medicine at UCSF and director of the university’s Abbott Viral Diagnostics and Discovery Center. He says in a press release: “These are the only three cases known to have occurred, although there could be additional outbreaks from this virus in the future.” Initial tests for known viruses on blood samples taken from the survivor revealed nothing; however, further genetic tests uncovered a completely new virus. Chiu says the new virus, BASV, is quite unlike other viruses in Africa known to be behind deadly outbreaks of acute hemorrhagic fever, such as Ebola virus, Lassa virus, and Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever virus. Genetically, BASV bears more resemblance to rabies viruses, which cause a different type of infection, a neurological illness that can take months to develop but invariably kills, explains Chiu. The virus belongs, like rabies, to a family called the rhabdoviruses. “BASV was present in the blood of the lone survivor at a concentration of over a million copies per milliliter. The genome of BASV, assembled from over 140 million sequence reads, reveals that it is very different from any other rhabdovirus,” write the authors. No other rhabdovirus is known to cause the acute, rapid and deadly hemorrhagic fever seen in the three cases in the Congo. For example, rabies can be deadly if untreated, but it doesn’t progress in the rapid and deadly fashion seen with BASV. –Medical News Today

World Renowned Leading Astronomers Dying
The video is a little dramatic for me, but the info is fascinating. You may have to slow down some of it to see the names and circumstances of death. The real question here is twofold. What is causing the increase in asteroids and comets coming toward the Sun and Earth, and what is NASA and the governments of the world spending billions of dollars to search for? Through various deep space telescopes designed to find dark, cool objects (like the LUCIFER) telescope in Arizona, it would seem they are searching for something like a brown dwarf star. Any articles or info on this would be much appreciated. Keep searching...

Scientists Move to Create Genetically Modified Camels for Pharmaceutical GM Milk
By Elizabeth Renter

September 28, 2012
As if genetically altered salmon, genetically modified babies, and GMO crops aren’t science fiction enough for you—soon drug makers will be using genetically modified camels in their pharmaceuticals.
Yes, you read that right—camels.
According to the Science and Development Network, the camels will be used to make genetically modified milk, which will then be processed into cheaper drugs.
The drugs from these laboratory-created camels will include insulin and clotting factors for hemophilia.
They will be used, at least initially, in the arid regions of the Middle East and North Africa, from which the camels originally came. Apparently, that’s why camels are being used instead of cattle, because of their adjustment to the extreme climates.
In another recent creation unleashed by scientists, human genes have successfully been inserted into genetically modified cows that now allow them to produce ‘human’ milk — milk that has the very same properties as human breast milk. What is the world coming to?

Genetically Modified Camels for Pharmaceutical GM Milk – What?
The drugs from these laboratory-created camels will include insulin and clotting factors for hemophilia.
They will be used, at least initially, in the arid regions of the Middle East and North Africa, from which the camels originally came. Apparently, that’s why camels are being used instead of cattle, because of their adjustment to the extreme climates.
“Cows would be better producers of transgenic protein as they produce more milk,” said Serge Muyldermans of the Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Immunology at Vrje University Brussel in Belgium. “But as camels can be kept in arid areas and are used to living under harsh conditions, they might be better suited to the Middle East.”Evidently, other scientists prefer genetically modified cows as well.
In another recent creation unleashed by scientists, human genes have successfully been inserted into genetically modified cows that now allow them to produce ‘human’ milk — milk that has the very same properties as human breast milk. What is the world coming to?

President Obama Declares The Future Must Not Belong to Practicing Christians
The title of the article may seem inflammatory, but it is accurate. Christians who proclaim the truth will find no place for their faith in the "new world order" being established now. Time to wake up!
By: Erick Erickson
In his speech to the United Nations General Assembly today the President of the United States declared that the future does not belong to practicing Christians. Already, the media and the left are in full denial, probably based on their general lack of understanding of theology. This would have been a gaffe had Mitt Romney said it. But with Barack Obama, he’s just speaking bold truths. His bold truth declares that the future does not belong to practicing Christians.
Pay careful attention to what he says.
But consider this.
It is an orthodox Christian belief that Mohammed is not a prophet. Actual Christians, as opposed to many of the supposed Christians put up by the mainstream media, believe that Christ is the only way to salvation. Believing that is slandering Mohammed. That’s just a fact. If you don’t believe me, you go into the MIddle East and proclaim Christ is the way, the truth, and the life and see what happens to your life.
Then Barack Obama went on to say “Yet to be credible, those who condemn that slander must also condemn the hate we see when the image of Jesus Christ is desecrated, churches are destroyed, or the Holocaust is denied.” Note he says we cannot “slander the prophet of Islam” but it’s only the image of Christ in the next sentence — not actually Christ himself desecrated. If this is so, why does Barack Obama’s government continue funding the National Endowment for the Arts, which funded Christ in piss, the Virgin Mary painted in dung, etc.?
Now, in point of fact, this is a major difference between Islam and Christianity. Christ came to this world as an enemy of the world and expected to be impugned. He also tells his followers that they should expect to be impugned. There is joy in being persecuted for following the Risen Lord. In Islam, if you impugn Mohammed, you get a fatwa on your butt.
And then there is the first amendment. The President of the United States tried to have it both ways in his speech.
Oh wait, you did it again in the same speech where you said “there is no speech that justifies mindless violence”:
But are they just words?
The fact is, many religions do not recognize Mohammed as a prophet. In the widest swath of Islam, that denial is, in and of itself, slander. So what exactly are you saying Mr. President?
As an exit point, with all of President Obama’s statements on tolerance in his speech, we should remember that tolerance is really not a Christian virtue. As Archbishop Chaput of Philadelphia noted, “We need to remember that tolerance is not a Christian virtue. Charity, justice, mercy, prudence, honesty — these are Christian virtues. And obviously, in a diverse community, tolerance is an important working principle. But it’s never an end itself.” The Archbishop also noted that evil preaches tolerance until it is dominate and then it seeks to silence good. That’s not a statement that the President is evil in any way, shape, or form, but we should be mindful when the secular world demands tolerance for all, tolerance for all means we cannot have standards of faith to live by, because those standards obviously require we be intolerant of sins this world has embraced.

The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam. Yet to be credible, those who condemn that slander must also condemn the hate we see when the image of Jesus Christ is desecrated, churches are destroyed, or the Holocaust is denied. Let us condemn incitement against Sufi Muslims, and Shiite pilgrims. It is time to heed the words of Gandhi: “Intolerance is itself a form of violence and an obstacle to the growth of a true democratic spirit.” Together, we must work towards a world where we are strengthened by our differences, and not defined by them. That is what America embodies, and that is the vision we will support. Now, that’s the full paragraph so no one can claim I took him out of context.
But consider this.
It is an orthodox Christian belief that Mohammed is not a prophet. Actual Christians, as opposed to many of the supposed Christians put up by the mainstream media, believe that Christ is the only way to salvation. Believing that is slandering Mohammed. And then there is the first amendment. The President of the United States tried to have it both ways in his speech.
I know there are some who ask why we don’t just ban such a video. The answer is enshrined in our laws: our Constitution protects the right to practice free speech. Here in the United States, countless publications provoke offense. Like me, the majority of Americans are Christian, and yet we do not ban blasphemy against our most sacred beliefs. Moreover, as President of our country, and Commander-in-Chief of our military, I accept that people are going to call me awful things every day, and I will always defend their right to do so. Americans have fought and died around the globe to protect the right of all people to express their views – even views that we disagree with.Just words, Mr. President? You say “there is no speech that justifies mindless violence,” but all last week you condemned a ridiculous video trailer for a movie that does not exist. Your government ran advertisements in Pakistan denouncing the video. What of free speech, Mr. President? Last week you were saying the violence was understandable given the offensive film and this week you are trying to claim it was mindless.
We do so not because we support hateful speech, but because our Founders understood that without such protections, the capacity of each individual to express their own views, and practice their own faith, may be threatened. We do so because in a diverse society, efforts to restrict speech can become a tool to silence critics, or oppress minorities. We do so because given the power of faith in our lives, and the passion that religious differences can inflame, the strongest weapon against hateful speech is not repression, it is more speech – the voices of tolerance that rally against bigotry and blasphemy, and lift up the values of understanding and mutual respect.
I know that not all countries in this body share this understanding of the protection of free speech. Yet in 2012, at a time when anyone with a cell phone can spread offensive views around the world with the click of a button, the notion that we can control the flow of information is obsolete. The question, then, is how we respond. And on this we must agree: there is no speech that justifies mindless violence.
Oh wait, you did it again in the same speech where you said “there is no speech that justifies mindless violence”:
At times, the conflicts arise along the fault lines of faith, race or tribe; and often they arise from the difficulties of reconciling tradition and faith with the diversity and interdependence of the modern world. In every country, there are those who find different religious beliefs threatening; in every culture, those who love freedom for themselves must ask how much they are willing to tolerate freedom for others.Time and again the President of the United States tries to have it both ways.
That is what we saw play out the last two weeks, as a crude and disgusting video sparked outrage throughout the Muslim world.
6.4 magnitude earthquake strikes Aleutian Island regions of Alaska
Posted by The Extinction Protocol
September 27, 2012 – ALASKA – A strong 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck the Aleutian Island regions of Alaska. The epicenter of the earthquake was 131 km (82 miles) from Adak, Alaska and about 2054 km (1277 miles) from Anchorage, AK. The quake was downgraded from 6.9 to a 6.4 magnitude earthquake registered at a depth of 9.9 km (6.2 miles) below the earth’s surface. The earthquake struck 33 km south of the Tanaga volcano in Alaska. Tanaga is a 5,924-foot (1,806 m) stratovolcano in the Aleutian Range of the U.S. state of Alaska. There have been three known eruptions at the volcano since 1763. The most recent eruption occurred in 1914 and produced lava flows. –The Extinction Protocol

Britain experiences month's worth of rainfall in 24 hours (again)
Huffington Post, UK
The wet and windy start to week has persisted into Wednesday with more than a month's worth of rain falling in some places across the UK. Britain has been hit with the most extreme September weather for decades, with hundreds evacuated from their homes and fire and rescue teams battling against the floods to help residents of some of the worst-hit areas.
Cars sailed down streets after being abandoned by motorists, and a block of flats in Newburn, Newcastle were left with their foundations exposed as the town struggled with another day of heavy rain.
Additional images
Mick Murphy, technical director of Newcastle City Council, told the BBC that the Spencer Court flats were "extremely unstable", adding that he had "never seen anything like this in 33 years of civil engineering experience".
It was evacuated close to a bicycle shop which had thousands of pounds worth of cycles stolen while the roads were blocked by water and silt.
"We have increased patrols in Newburn" said Acting Chief Superintendent Dave Byrne, of Newcastle Area Command.
He added: "It is despicable if people are thinking of taking advantage of the bad weather and using it as an opportunity to break in to properties."
There are 57 flood warnings and 100 flood alerts currently in force across the UK, with the North of England worst affected.
Although the worst of the rain has now passed, river levels in some places were still rising as the water comes down through the systems.
The Environment Agency said rivers such as the Ouse, which flows through York, and the Dane, which flows through Crewe, Nantwich and Northwich, had yet to peak this afternoon and posed a real risk of flooding.
Some towns have been "cut in half" by the floods, as bridges were swamped by the swollen river conditions. Tadcaster was split in two by the closure of the bridge which carries the A659 over the River Wharfe as a precaution after firefighters noticed water seeping through the structure.
