Petrus Romanus Seen Fulfilling The Prophecies Of Fr. Malachi Martin... With Rome In Danger Of Becoming An Instrument Of Antichrist’s New World Order

I scraped the title from Raiders News which picked up the story...there's been increased interest in the prophecy of Malachi Martin with each new speech the Pope gives.  This apparently is just one more brick in the new papal wall...

Don’t pick a political fight with Pope Francis? The title of Rachel Lu’s recent essay and the timidity behind it reminds me of a old Jewish joke. Max and Moishe are being escorted to the execution chamber in a Nazi prison. In a sudden gesture of defiance, Max raises his arm and gives the guards his middle finger. Horrified, Moishe pulls his arm down and blurts, “Please, Max, don’t make waves.” Under the tutelage of a pope who ascribes to himself an omnicompetency in geopolitical and scientific matters, the Catholic Church is at risk of a death walk of its own. Its descent into a left-leaning political entity is underway while we circle the wagons and measure our tones. It is a serious matter when a pope confuses political and ideological symbols for religious ones masked in a Christian idiom aligned with ideological agendas (e.g. Gaia, radical environmentalism) that impinge on democratic freedoms and the sanctity of the individual. Throughout the history of the Church, there has been tension between Peter and Caesar, between the Church and the state. Francis, raised in Argentina during the apogee of Peronism, gives every evidence of tilting toward the state.

The Prophecy of Father Malachi Martin - Is Francis the Final Pope?

Francis, the first Jesuit Pope has certainly gone out on a limb to make sure every people group on the planet should be welcome in the Roman Church, even if those groups worship pagan gods or are homosexual, transsexual, etc., all are welcome.  So is Francis "Petrus Romanus"?  According to various predictions, including Malachi Martin's, he must be final pope.  Either way, we will soon know for certain.

Father Martin stated in his last book, "Windswept House", that a black magic ceremony had been performed in Rome and South Carolina simultaneously on June 29, 1963.  The notes of interest on South Carolina it being the home of Freemasonry in America, the state of origin for the Civil War, and also has a St. Peters in Columbia.  This ceremony was to "enthrone Satan".  What is of interest here is that Father Martin stated that the enthronement was enabled to occur sometime within 50 years of the ceremony.  This means that no later than June 29, 2013, Satan is invited to assume the Papal throne.

I'm not confirming this as true, just sharing it as something of interest.  Several Catholic priests and bishops have stated in the recent years that "the smoke of Satan (offerings) was rising from the Vatican", most recently Father Gabriel Amorth, who is no less than the Chief Exorcist for the Roman Church.  Not the best publicity for the Catholic church, by the way.

This prophecy seems to come very near to correlation with the prophecy of St. Malachy.  Malachy, a catholic priest serving in the 11th century, reportedly made a long series of predictions concerning future popes.  According to his prediction, only one pope will take office following the current Pope Benedict.  This pope will be known as "Peter The Roman", and will serve during the reign of the Antichrist.  Are these prophecies true?  We don't have long to wait....

Fr. Malachi Martin affirmed: Satanism has been practiced in the Vatican
"How I warned and warned that satan would enter into the highest realms of the hierarchy in Rome. The Third Secret, My child, is that satan would enter into My Son's Church." - Our Lady of the Roses, May 13, 1978
Fr. Malachi Martin's accusations
In The Fatima Crusader article, Malachi Martin, a scholar, Vatican insider, and best-selling author, said, “Anybody who is acquainted with the state of affairs in the Vatican in the last 35 years is well aware that the prince of darkness has had and still has his surrogates in the court of St. Peter in Rome.”
From 1958 until 1964, Jesuit priest Malachi Martin served in Rome where he was a close associate of, and carried out many sensitive missions for the renowned Jesuit Cardinal Augustin Bea and the pope. Released afterwards from his vows of poverty and obedience at his own request (but still a priest), he ultimately moved to New York and became a best-selling writer of fiction and non-fiction.
Martin had first made reference to a diabolic rite held in Rome in his 1990 non-fiction best-seller about geopolitics and the Vatican, The Keys of This Blood, in which he wrote:
"Most frighteningly for [Pope] John Paul [II], he had come up against the irremovable presence of a malign strength in his own Vatican and in certain bishops’ chanceries. It was what knowledgeable Churchmen called the ‘superforce.’ Rumors, always difficult to verify, tied its installation to the beginning of Pope Paul VI’s reign in 1963. Indeed Paul had alluded somberly to ‘the smoke of Satan which has entered the Sanctuary’. . . an oblique reference to an enthronement ceremony by Satanists in the Vatican. Besides, the incidence of Satanic pedophilia—rites and practices— was already documented among certain bishops and priests as widely dispersed as Turin, in Italy, and South Carolina, in the United States. The cultic acts of Satanic pedophilia are considered by professionals to be the culmination of the Fallen Archangel’s rites." (p. 632)

Pope Benedict - Not A Professional Model
These allegations have largely gone unnoticed, possibly because he was so crafty in his descriptions that he might even have been referring to the coronation of Pope Paul VI. But he revealed much more about this alleged ritual in one of his last works, Windswept House: A Vatican Novel (1996). In this story, he vividly described a ceremony called “The Enthronement of the Fallen Archangel Lucifer” supposedly held in St. Paul’s Chapel in the Vatican, but linked with concurrent satanic rites here in the U.S., on June 29, 1963, barely a week after the election of Paul VI. In the novel, before he dies, a pope leaves a secret account of the situation on his desk for the next occupant of the throne of Peter, a thinly-disguised John Paul II.
According to The New American, Martin confirmed that the ceremony did indeed occur as he had described. “Oh yes, it is true; very much so,” the magazine reported he said. “But the only way I could put that down into print is in novelistic form.”
Martin's accusation of a satanic ritual at the Vatican was also confirmed by John Loeffler, host of the Steel on Steel radio show.  Mr. Loeffler personally asked Fr. Malachi Martin (who had been a regular guest on his show) about the reported dedication to satan within the Vatican:
"You know Malachi confirmedthe first part of his book, Windswept Househe confirmed the dedication of the Vatican to satan in a secret ceremony that occurred unknown even to the Pope at that time, that he managed to pick up. And I did ask him, 'Was this true? Did it happen?' And he [Fr. Martin] said, 'yes, it did.'" - John Loeffler (July 29, 2000 radio show)
Fr. Malachi Martin said more members of the clergy are becoming aware of the situation. An archbishop several years ago also accused high members of the hierarchy in Rome of practicing satanism. The Italian newspaper Il Tempo and other major daily papers reported this stunning news (Italian newspaper articles).

Altar of St. Peters, Rome
Windswept HouseWindswept House is a sweeping novel, set on the grand global stage and the unfolding of the next stage of civilization, the ominously-named New World Order. It tackles head-on a number of heavy issues from abortion to the Third Secret of Fatima, but the essential message seems to be this: Satanists lurk in the shadows, from the heart of the Vatican down to the local parishes, manipulating those duped by the false spirit of Vatican II. They are doing their damnedest to subvert the Roman Catholic Church.
In Windswept House, Martin was quite explicit about the conditions in the Vatican, opening the novel with the above-mentioned satanic ritual. In it, Satan was formally enthroned in the Vatican in the Chapel of St. Paul (by all reports a dark and appropriately spooky place). The ceremony was coordinated via telephone with another simultaneous rite in South Carolina.
But these are minor quibbles. Like The Keys of This Blood, Windswept House is written for a wide and not necessarily Catholic audience, but both books give an odd feeling of being intended for John Paul II himself. It’s as if Keys was written to show the Pope that Martin understood what the Pontiff was doing in the geopolitical arena and address his concerns for the Church’s internal situation. (One may be reminded of Machiavelli’s The Prince, written also by a courtier exiled from court.) Windswept House, however, is a much more dramatic and desperate plea to the Pope.

A Dark Vision
Just how bad did Martin judge things to be? Extremely so:
"Suddenly it became unarguable that now during this papacy, the Roman Catholic organization carried a permanent presence of clerics who worshipped Satan and liked it; of bishops and priests who sodomized boys and each other; of nuns who performed the “Black Rites” of Wicca, and who lived in lesbian relationships . . . every day, including Sundays and Holy Days, acts of heresy and blasphemy and outrage and indifference were committed and permitted at holy Altars by men who had been called to be priests. Sacrilegious actions and rites were not only performed on Christ’s Altars, but had the connivance or at least the tacit permission of certain Cardinals, archbishops, and bishops. . . In total number they were a minority—anything from one to ten percent of Church personnel. But of that minority, many occupied astoundingly high positions or rank.... The facts that brought the Pope to a new level of suffering were mainly two: The systematic organizational links—the network, in other words that had been established between certain clerical homosexual groups and Satanist covens. And the inordinate power and influence of that network." (pp. 492-3)
At the time of his passing on July 27, 1999, Martin was at work on what he said would be his most controversial and important book. Primacy: How the Institutional Roman Catholic Church became a Creature of The New World Order was to deal with power and the papacy. This work was to analyze the revolutionary shift that lies at the heart of what many see as the breakdown of papal power. It was to be a book of predictions about the Vatican and the world in the first decades of the new millennium.
Fr. Malachi Martin never recanted any of his claims that the scene in Windswept House was based on an actual satanic ritual in the Vatican in the first days of the reign of Pope Paul VI, nor that there exists a general satanic conspiracy within the Roman Catholic Church.

Prophecies of 'The Assyrian': Will the Antichrist Come From Iraq?

I'm fascinated by the extensive research of Peter Goodgame.  His idea really seems to be available in only one form, which is his books.  But his books are a worthy read for Christians seeking to dive deep into the truth of Bible history and prophecy.  You may not agree with everything, but you likely will come to the point that this guy is onto something that will take you into an entirely different directions.  And hopefully prepare us for the dark days to come of course.  Watch and pray.....

By Peter Goodgame

Part One:
"O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger... I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge..." (Isaiah 10:5-6, KJV)

Introduction

The Book of Revelation predicts the rise of a global superpower that will precede the coming of the Antichrist. The name of this world power is given as "Babylon the Great" and so we see, from Babel in Genesis to Babylon in Revelation, that mankind's rebellion against God comes full circle. In this series of articles I will show that the theme of "full circle" is applicable in more ways than one as we witness the fulfillment of prophetic events at the close of the Age.
Following the successful American invasion of Iraq, and subsequent occupation, there are many Bible scholars who are looking at the end-times prophecies of this region with renewed interest. Many of them believe that the Bible predicts the literal re-building of Babylon—the "great harlot" of Revelation 17:1—along the banks of the Euphrates River. They follow along with the views of Arthur W. Pink who, in 1923 in his comprehensive study of the Antichrist [1], pointed to Zechariah 5:5-11 which speaks of the habitation of a wicked woman being established "in the land of Shinar." Will ancient Babylon be rebuilt in the last days and somehow emerge in control of the political and economic structures of the world in fulfillment of Revelation 17-18?
Of course now that the US Military controls Iraq we can be sure that if a rebuilt Babylon does emerge it will happen only through the support of the US Government! Despite the influence of the political Right within evangelical ranks the identity of "Babylon the Great" continues to be highly debated among prophecy scholars. For many years I have believed that this entity is none other than the US Government in general and New York City in particular. And yes, I will admit that my conclusion has been influenced by the female symbolism of Mystery Babylon (Lady Liberty?), which also affects my personal expectation of who will be our next President! Having said that, lately my thinking has been influenced by my exposure to certain evidence that suggests that the "great harlot" of Revelation 17-18 is closely associated with "apostate Israel," as opposed to "faithful Israel" described in Revelation 12.[2] From this perspective New York City may yet fulfill a prophetic role, seeing as it is the political and economic "capital of the world" while at the same time it is the city with the world's largest Jewish population. Could the US invasion of Iraq and the establishment of numerous military bases (left) somehow be the fulfillment of Zechariah's prophecy which predicted the building of a base for a wicked woman (Babylon the Harlot) in the "land of Shinar"? Certainly our government's critics are quick to point out how the invasion of Iraq suited Israel's long-term agenda for the region. Whatever the case may be it does seem clear that the land of Shinar and the nation of Iraq has yet to experience the complete fulfillment of the Bible's prophetic statements.

In parallel with the recent interest regarding "Babylon" in end-times studies there has also been renewed interest in the identity of the Antichrist himself. Bible scholars have usually contented themselves with the information that comes from the New Testament on this subject, yet lately it has been discovered that the Old Testament also offers detailed insight into this mystery. I am speaking primarily of numerous Old Testament references to a certain apocalyptic figure known as "Asshur," which is a name usually translated as "the Assyrian" in English Bibles. Just who is this "Assyrian" and how do we know for sure that he is related to the Antichrist? Furthermore, once this connection is proven can we then draw conclusions regarding the Antichrist's place of origin and national or racial identity?

Messiahs, True and False

If we look at several of the prophecies of Asshur we find that he is often mentioned in parallel with prophecies of Israel's true Messiah. Perhaps the most-quoted is from the fifth chapter of Micah. The passage begins with the prophecy that Bethlehem will bring forth the Messiah, and then it continues,
"And this man (the Messiah) shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men. And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he (the Messiah) deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders." (Micah 5:5-6, KJV)
Note that it is the Messiah who will deliver Israel from the Assyrian (Hebrew-Asshur), and then Israel will experience their Millennial blessings (v.7). Furthermore, while Asshur is oppressing Israel they will be defended by "seven shepherds" and/or "eight principal men." Are these numbers intended to draw attention to the Antichrist who will be "an eighth," yet "one of the seven," as it says in Rev. 17:11? Concerning the context of Micah's prophecy, it is true that in the days of the prophets Israel was beset with the very real threat of the kingdom of Assyria (Asshur). The northern kingdom of Israel was destroyed by the Assyrian armies of King Shalmaneser V in 722 BC, and later in 701 the southern kingdom of Judah survived an Assyrian invasion under Sennacharib only through divine intervention. Yet this prophecy speaks of Asshur invading the land of Israel at a time after the appearance of the Messiah. It is hard to avoid this prophecy's end-times context.

The earliest full-length commentary of the book of Revelation that remains in existence today was written by a Slovenian bishop by the name of Victorinus Poetovionensis around the year 260 AD. In his commentary Victorinus quotes this passage from Micah and then states very bluntly: "Assur, that is, Antichrist."[3] Bible scholar Chuck Missler arrives at this very same conclusion in his study, "Antichrist: An Alternate Ending."[4] Other Bible scholars who have recently commented on the "Assyrian" Antichrist include Walid Shoebat, Joseph Chambers, and David Busch.[5]

Both Micah and the prophet Isaiah lived during the time when Assyria was a great threat to Israel yet their prophecies seem to speak on two levels. Firstly, as a warning to Israel at the time but, more importantly for us, they also look forward in time to the final appearance of Asshur as Israel's deceitful enemy and false Messiah when he will invade and occupy Israel and then finally be destroyed in the end by the true Messiah.

To Rebuild the Tower

Isaiah 9:6-7 is a very well known Messianic prophecy, but immediately after giving this prophecy Isaiah launches into a series of accusations against Israel interspersed with the repeated statement of, "For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still." The first accusation is very important, and I believe that the full message is only preserved in the Septuagint version of this ancient text, which is the Greek translation used by the early Church.[6] Here is the first of these accusations against Israel from the prophet Isaiah,
"The Lord has sent death upon Jacob, and it has come upon Israel. And all the people of Ephraim, and they that dwelt in Samaria shall know, who say in their pride and lofty heart, The bricks are fallen down, but come, let us hew stones, and cut down sycamores and cedars, and let us build for ourselves a tower." (Isaiah 9:8-10, LXX, Brenton's translation) [7]
The allusions to Genesis 11:1-9 are unmistakable and we see that the apostasy of Israel had become so complete in Isaiah's day that it was as if they had the intention in their hearts to rebuild the Tower of Babel! Because of this God's anger was kindled and his hand was stretched out in wrath. After listing His accusations God mocks Israel in apocalyptic terms, saying, "And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory?" (Is.10:3). Isaiah then proceeds to predict the form that God's punishment against Israel will take,
"O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation. I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets." (10:5-6)
Isaiah gives one of the most important and beautiful Messianic prophecies in 9:6-7, but then, because of Israel's complete rejection of God to the point where they are ready to rebuild Babel, the Lord declares that Asshur will become an instrument of divine wrath directed against Israel! The text continues on to explain how Asshur will finally fulfill his usefulness to God and then, because of his prideful and blasphemous heart, God will turn against and destroy Asshur. The next passage answers the question from v.3 and shows that Israel will turn again to God after having once placed their trust in Asshur:
"And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth... For the Lord God of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land. Therefore thus saith the Lord God of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian... For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease, and mine anger in their destruction." (Isaiah 10:20-25, KJV)

The Destruction that is Decreed

In the passage above Isaiah refers to a "consumption" or "destruction" (Heb. kalah) which is "determined" or "decreed" (Heb. haras) in connection with the career of Asshur. This very same destruction that is decreed appears in the book of Daniel in a familiar end-times context:
"He will confirm a covenant with many for one `seven.' In the middle of the `seven' he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing [of the temple] he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end (destruction - kalah) that is decreed (haras) is poured out on him." (Daniel 9:27, NIV)
Many prophecy scholars believe that the covenant referred to in Daniel 9:27 is associated with the future Antichrist. This covenant is also mentioned in Isaiah 28:14-20 as a "covenant with death and hell." The verses that follow explain this covenant and reinforce the possibility that Asshur will fulfill his end-times role as the Antichrist. He will make a covenant with Israel and they will rely on him, yet he will betray them and persecute them until the Lord hears their cries and brings about the destruction that is decreed.
"The LORD will rise up as he did at Mount Perazim, he will rouse himself as in the Valley of Gibeon-- to do his work, his strange work, and perform his task, his alien task. Now stop your mocking, or your chains will become heavier; the Lord, the LORD Almighty, has told me of the destruction (kalah) decreed (haras) against the whole land." (Isaiah 28:21-22, NIV)

With the Breath of His Mouth

After concluding his predictions involving Asshur and the nation of Assyria (10:5-34) Isaiah then turns back again to the subject of the true Messiah:
"A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him-- the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD--and he will delight in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked." (Isaiah 11:1-4, NIV)
Isaiah 10:17 declares that the Lord's "Holy One" will burn and consume Asshur in a single day. In the passage above we find that with "the breath of his lips" the Messiah will "slay the wicked." The word "wicked" (Heb. rasha) is singular in this passage. I believe this predicts the destruction of Asshur the Antichrist in the very same manner predicted by the Apostle Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2:8,
"And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming."
A more complete picture of the fire that comes from the mouth of the Messiah at His glorious appearance is given in Isaiah 30:27-33. In this passage "the Assyrian" (Asshur) is described as nothing more than a funeral pyre (Tophet) that awaits its destined conflagration:
"Behold, the name of the Lord cometh from far, burning with his anger, and the burden thereof is heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire: And his breath, as an overflowing stream... And the Lord shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones. For through the voice of the Lord shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which smote with a rod. And in every place where the grounded staff shall pass, which the Lord shall lay upon him, it shall be with tabrets and harps: and in battles of shaking will he fight with it. For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the Lord, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it." (Isaiah 30:27-33, KJV)

An Evil Seed

Isaiah's predictions of judgment go hand in hand with his predictions of blessings, and these blessings are ultimately realized in the Millennium as described in the two chapters of Isaiah 11-12. However, the Day of the Lord must be endured before the Messianic Kingdom is established, and this Day includes judgment against end-times Babylon as predicted in Isaiah 13. In this chapter Isaiah refers to "birthpangs" (v.8) and to the darkening of the sun, moon and stars (v.10), all of which is predicted by Jesus in the Olivet Discourse (Matt.24:8 and 24:29). Isaiah 13 includes a "near" prophecy of the invasion of the Medes, which was fulfilled in Daniel's day, yet the primary focus concerns the "far" Day of the Lord, which will bring the ultimate desolation of Babylon so that its end will be just like Sodom and Gomorrah.
After Isaiah predicts the fall of Babylon he speaks again of the Millennial blessings that Israel will receive after the Lord triumphs over His enemies (Isaiah 14:1-2). Then, from this Millennial vantage point, Isaiah declares that Israel will take up a taunt against the King of Babylon. He is the one who oppressed Israel during the Day of the Lord, and he is the one who was given the rod of the wrath of God to punish the nations. Notice how Isaiah 14:3-6 shows the end result of Isaiah 10:3-6,
Isaiah 10:3-6: "And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory? Without me they shall bow down under the prisoners, and they shall fall under the slain. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still. O Assyrian [Asshur], the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation. I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets."
Isaiah 14:3-6: "And it shall come to pass in the day that the Lord shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve, That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased! The Lord hath broken the staff of the wicked, and the sceptre of the rulers. He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, and none hindereth."
From the Millennial vantage point it becomes obvious that Isaiah's description of the King of Babylon is in fact a description of the Antichrist. Israel will look back and taunt the anti-messiah after they are rescued from certain annihilation by the true Messiah.
I distinctly remember a radio program from several years ago in which Art Bell interviewed the late Father Malachi Martin (right), the prolific author and experienced exorcist, who staunchly affirmed that Satan and Lucifer are two very distinct demons. I mention this only because Isaiah refers to the King of Babylon as "Lucifer" and if our conclusions so far are correct then this must mean that Lucifer is another name for the Antichrist, rather than another name for Satan which is the traditional view. Here is that most famous passage as translated from the Greek Old Testament which includes a provocative statement at the end:
"How has Lucifer, that rose in the morning, fallen from heaven! He that sent orders to all the nations is crushed to the earth. But thou saidst in thine heart, I will go up to heaven, I will set my throne above the stars of heaven... I will be like the Most High. But now thou shalt go down to hell, even to the foundations of the earth... All the kings of the nations lie in honour, every man in his house. But thou shalt be cast forth on the mountains, as a loathed carcase... As a garment defiled with blood shall not be pure, so neither shalt thou be pure; because thou hast destroyed my land, and hast slain my people: thou shalt not endure for ever, —thou an evil seed." (Isaiah 14:12-20, LXX)
By referring to the "evil seed" I believe that Isaiah points to a particular prophecy from the book of Genesis. It is a prophecy known as the Proto-Evangelium or "First Gospel." It is the first recorded Biblical prophecy of the Messiah (the "seed of the woman") but at the same time it also predicts the coming of the anti-messiah who will be the "seed of the serpent":
"And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." (Genesis 3:14-15, KJV)

Asshur, King of Babylon

Isaiah's prophecy about the King of Babylon concludes with words that take us back to the initial introduction of Asshur as an instrument of God's wrath. Remember that Asshur is introduced following God's accusation that the people of Israel had it in their hearts to rebuild the Tower of Babel, and after four repetitions of the statement, "For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still." Here now is the conclusion to the prophecy of the King of Babylon [8] which explains that the rise and fall of Asshur the Antichrist is the end-times manifestation of the Lord's outstretched hand. The earth will first experience the wrath of the anti-messiah before it will enjoy the blessings that will arrive with the true Messiah:
"The Lord of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand: That I will break the Assyrian [Asshur] in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders. This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations. For the Lord of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?" (Isaiah 14:24-27, KJV)
With the prophecies of Asshur we see that there is a pattern. During the time of Isaiah the people of Israel had fallen so deeply into apostasy that the Lord declared that it was as if they intended in their proud hearts to rebuild the Tower of Babel. Because of this God sent the nation of Assyria [Asshur] to humble and oppress them so that they would turn back to the Lord. In the book of Revelation we see the same pattern associated with the "great city" known as Babylon. One way or another the rebellious desire that is mentioned in Isaiah 9:10 (LXX) of "come... let us build for ourselves a tower" is fulfilled in the last days. And just as in ancient times God will again use Asshur to humble Israel and the world. Except this time Asshur will be an individual instead of a country—a king instead of a kingdom. He will be the anti-messiah energized by Satan's power but directed and then finally destroyed by God Almighty.

Conclusion

So who is "the Assyrian"? Is this merely a title that should be taken only as a hint to his national identity or regional origin? In future installments of this series we will see that the Antichrist does have a Mesopotamian origin, but not in the way that many people have been led to expect. It is my belief that the Hebrew name "Asshur" should not be interpreted by the generalized and vague designation of "the Assyrian," but should be interpreted simply as "Asshur." The name is precise and specific and is much more than a mere hint. Asshur is Asshur. Asshur is the Antichrist.

So who is Asshur and how can we positively identify this end-times anti-messiah who plays such a prominent role in the book of Revelation? As this series continues we will discover that the answer is found, once again, in the book of Genesis.

The Prophecy of Malachi Martin - Where Does It Stand Now?

I initially printed this in January of last year, but the time is now at hand, and events are unfolding. We will soon know if Malachi Martin was correct in his writings concerning the ritual of June 29, 1963, which provided a 50 year window for the "enthronement" of Satan.

The newest Pope, Francis, has done plenty to show an ecumenical (one-world religion) slant, including his heavily publicized Wednesday night presentation stating that, in essence all will be saved.  Is he the human embodiment that Satan or the Beast will possess?  Perhaps.  We will have some days ahead to watch his actions and see just what occurs.  It should be noted that the Prophecy of St. Malachy was noted to give an average of 11 years as the tenure of each pope, and it has held remarkably true.  Did 2013 begins Francis 11 year reign?  Or will he reveal his true intentions much sooner?  It's to us to watch, prepare and pray.  Just make sure your lamp is full of oil for the coming night...

Father Martin was also well-known as an exorcist.

Windswept House

Windswept House is a sweeping novel, set on the grand global stage and the unfolding of the next stage of civilization, the ominously-named New World Order.

I added this, the first part in a series of an interview that was taken with Malachi Martin not long before his death.  He talks about his background and work in the Vatican, some of his extensive education and his work as an exorcist.  Add in best-selling novelist and former (or forever?) Jesuit, and you have one very interesting man.

Catholic Theologians who foretold how Rome would assist the Antichrist

Catholic experts say the title “Peter the Roman” is potent in that it indicates Pope Francis I may ultimately revive an authoritarian Babylonian State Religion. On this order, the man who in 2002 correctly predicted that the pope succeeding John Paul II would be named Benedict XVI, Ronald L. Conte Jr., believes this pope “will reaffirm the authority of the Roman Pontiff over the Church” and “will emphasize the supremacy of the Roman Catholic Faith and the Roman Catholic Church above all other religions and denominations, and its authority over all Christians and all peoples of the world.” To this, Conte adds, “During the reign of Pope Peter the Roman [Francis], the great apostasy begins” and this pope will mark “the first part of the tribulation, during our generation." [I]

Conte's eschatology seems to stem all the way back to Dr. Henry Edward Cardinal Manning who was Lord Archbishop of Westminster from 1865–1892. Before conversion to Catholicism he was an influential Anglican cleric but lost faith in the Church of England in 1850, when, “in the so-called Gorham judgment, the Privy Council successfully ordered the Church to institute an Evangelical clergyman who denied that the sacrament of baptism had an objective effect of baptismal regeneration. The denial of the objective effect of the sacraments was to Manning and many others a grave heresy.” This contradicting of tradition within the church by order of a civil, secular court was too much for Manning, who viewed it as evidence the Anglican Church “was merely a man-made creation of the English Parliament.”[ii]
After departing the Church of England, Manning converted to Catholicism and entered the seminary. He was ordained a priest June 14, 1851, and by 1865, had risen to Archbishop of Westminster. He was a significant presence in setting the direction of the modern Catholic Church, and achieved particular fame for his doctrine of papal infallibility (the dogma that the pope is preserved from even the possibility of error when he speaks “ex cathedra”), which became dogma during the First Vatican Council of 1870. Manning’s unrelenting emphasis on the prerogatives and powers of the pope, including authority over local temporal and spiritual hierarchies such as local bishops, defined ultramontanism in his day—the idea that papal superiority should exist even over councils and kings.
Historians view the nineteenth-century revival of ultramontanism as progressing through three distinct stages:
  • 1814. The revival of the Jesuit Order, which was always the mainstay of curial as opposed to local authority.
  • 1864. The issuing by Pius IX of the Syllabus, in which Catholicism and any form of liberalism were held to be incompatible.
  • 1870. The declaration by the First Vatican Council that the Pope is infallible when he makes, by virtue of his office, a solemn pronouncement on faith or morals. This declaration, though not conceding the claim of administrative infallibility which many Ultramontanes would have wished, marked a substantial triumph for their point of view.[iii]
These facts make Manning all the more remarkable given how during the 1800–1900s a series of scholarly opinions were published outlining how events in the Roman Catholic Church combined with long-time anti-papist goals by secret Masonic infiltrators would give rise in the last days to great apostasy in Rome and the advent of Antichrist. Among the strongest proponents of this eschatology was Cardinal Manning himself, who delivered a series of lectures in 1861 under the title “The Present Crises of the Holy See Tested by Prophecy” (later incorporated into a larger study entitled “The Temporal Power of the Vicar of Jesus Christ”) in which Manning foresaw a future crises in the Roman Catholic Church initiated by the type of ecumenism and flexible dogma that many modern conservative Catholics have loathed following the Second Vatican Council (October 1962 through December 1965). Manning believed this change to orthodoxy would undermine the authority of the Church and finally result in a departure of the profession of Catholic faith by the nations together with the displacement of the true pope by a false prophet, thus ushering in the Antichrist and global apostasy. Manning also believed secret societies like the Freemasons were part of this conspiracy. “The secret societies have long ago undermined and honeycombed the Christian society of Europe, and are at this moment struggling onward towards Rome, the center of all Christian order in the world,”[iv] he wrote. But when he looked at the prophecy in Revelation 18 concerning the end-time destruction of Mystery Babylon, Manning saw it was the hand of God in judgment of worldwide apostasy emanating from Rome:
We read in the Book Apocalypse, of the city of Rome, that she said in the pride of her heart, “I sit as a queen, and am no widow, and sorrow I shall not see. Therefore shall her plagues come in one day: death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be burned with fire, because God is strong who shall judge her.” Some of the greatest writers of the Church tell us that…the great City of Seven Hills…the city of Rome will probably become apostate…and that Rome will again be punished, for he will depart from it; and the judgment of God will fall…[v]
Thus, just as the Prophecy of the Popes and numerous other Catholic visionary conveyances do, Manning foresaw the destruction of the city of Rome as a result of its partnership with the Antichrist. This doctrine would have been unfamiliar to most Catholics in those days, so Manning explained how Catholicism’s greatest theologians agreed with this point of view:
The apostasy of the city of Rome…and its destruction by Antichrist may be thoughts so new to many Catholics, that I think it well to recite the text of theologians, of greatest repute. First, Malvenda, who writes expressly on the subject, states as the opinion of Ribera, Gaspar Melus, Viegas, Suarez, Bellarmine, and Bosius, that Rome shall apostatize from the faith, drive away the Vicar of Christ, and return to its ancient paganism. Malvenda’s words are:
But Rome itself in the last times of the world will return to its ancient idolatry, power, and imperial greatness. It will cast out its Pontiff, altogether apostatize from the Christian faith, terribly persecute the Church, shed the blood of martyrs more cruelly than ever, and will recover its former state of abundant wealth, or even greater than it had under its first rulers.
Lessius says: “In the time of Antichrist, Rome shall be destroyed, as we see openly from the thirteenth chapter of the Apocalypse;” and again: “The woman whom thou sawest is the great city, which hath kingdom over the kings of the earth, in which is signified Rome in its impiety, such as it was in the time of St. John, and shall be again at the end of the world.” And Bellarmine: “In the time of Antichrist, Rome shall be desolated and burnt, as we learn from the sixteenth verse of the seventeenth chapter of the Apocalypse.” On which words the Jesuit Erbermann comments as follows: “We all confess with Bellarmine that the Roman people, a little before the end of the world, will return to paganism, and drive out the Roman Pontiff.”

Viegas, on the eighteenth chapter of the Apocalypse says: “Rome, in the last age of the world, after it has apostatized from the faith, will attain great power and splendor of wealth, and its sway will be widely spread throughout the world, and flourish greatly. Living in luxury and the abundance of all things, it will worship idols, and be steeped in all kinds of superstition, and will pay honor to false gods. And because of the vast effusion of the blood of martyrs which was shed under the emperors, God will most severely and justly avenge them, and it shall be utterly destroyed, and burned by a most terrible and afflicting conflagration.”[vi]
From the prophecy of "Our Lady at LaSallete" (favored by two popes), which stated "Rome will lose the Faith and will become the seat of Antichrist" (1872-1873 edition) to more recent times, numerous Catholics have built on the foundation laid by Cardinal Manning and have often been surprisingly outspoken on their agreement regarding the inevitable danger not only of apostate Rome but of the False Prophet rising from within the ranks of Catholicism itself as a result of secret satanic “Illuminati-Masonic” influences. (The term “Illuminati” as used here is not strictly a reference to the Bavarian movement founded May 1, 1776, by Jesuit-taught Adam Weishaupt, but as indicative of a modern multinational power elite, an occult hierarchy operating behind current supranatural and global political machinations.) According to Catholic priests such as Father E. Sylvester Berry, whose book The Apocalypse of Saint John foretold the usurpation of the Papacy by a false prophet; Father Herman Bernard Kramer, whose work The Book of Destiny painted a terrifying scenario in which Satan enters the church and assassinates the true pope (possibly during conclave) in order that his false pope can rise to rule the world; as well as similar beliefs by priests like Father John F. O’Connor, Father Alfred Kunz, and Father Malachi Martin, this will happen because secret-society and sinister false Catholic infiltrators understand the geopolitical influence of Rome in the world is indispensable for controlling future global elements in matters of church and state. The Roman Catholic Church represents one-sixth of the world’s population and over half of all professing Christians, has its own diplomatic corps of ambassadors posted in industrialized nations globally, and over one hundred eighty nations of the world send their ambassadors to the capital city, the Vatican.

In a two-hour presentation (available on DVD), Father O’Connor gave a homily titled “The Reign of the Antichrist,” in which he described how changes within society and in the institution were already at work before his death to provide for the coming of Antichrist. In this sermon and elsewhere, O’Connor outlined the catalyst for this scheme unfolding as a result of “Masonic Conspirators” within the organization whose plan, called “Alta Vendita,” would essentially take control of the papacy and help the False Prophet deceive the world’s faithful (including Catholics) into worshipping Antichrist.

The Permanent Instruction of the Alta Vendita (or simply the Alta Vendita) is a nineteenth-century Italian document, allegedly written by the highest lodge of the Italian Carbonari—a secret revolutionary society associated with Freemasonry—both of which had been publically condemned by Rome. The document clearly maps out a blueprint for infiltrating the Catholic Church in order to slowly turn it into an instrument of propaganda for the society’s principles and goals, ultimately seeking to produce Catholic laity, clergy, and finally a pope who would be warm to the ideas of the Enlightenment—the eighteenth-century philosophical view of man as held by naturalists, atheists, deists, and Freemasons, who sought to reform society by elevating science and intellect over religion.

In the nineteenth century, Pope Pius IX and Pope Leo XIII both asked for the Alta Vendita to be published. In 1859, Jacques Crétineau-Joly did so in his book, L’Église romaine en face de la Révolution, and in 1885 it was published in English by Monsignor George F. Dillon in The War of Anti-Christ with the Church and Christian Civilization. Due to its importance to this chapter, we have provided a significant portion of the text below:

PERMANENT INSTRUCTION OF THE ALTA VENDITA
The Papacy has at all times exercised a decisive action upon the affairs of Italy. By the hands, by the voices, by the pens, by the hearts of its innumerable bishops, priests, monks, nuns and people in all latitudes, the Papacy finds devotedness without end ready for martyrdom, and that to enthusiasm. Everywhere, whenever it pleases to call upon them, it has friends ready to die or lose all for its cause. This is an immense leverage which the Popes alone have been able to appreciate to its full power, and as yet they have used it only to a certain extent. Today there is no question of reconstituting for ourselves that power, the prestige of which is for the moment weakened. Our final end is that of Voltaire and of the French Revolution, the destruction forever of Catholicism and even of the Christian idea which, if left standing on the ruins of Rome, would be the resuscitation of Christianity later on. But to attain more certainly that result, and not prepare ourselves with gaiety of heart for reverses which adjourn indefinitely, or compromise for ages, the success of a good cause, we must not pay attention to those braggarts of Frenchmen, those cloudy Germans, those melancholy Englishmen, all of whom imagine they can kill Catholicism, now with an impure song, then with an illogical deduction; at another time, with a sarcasm smuggled in like the cottons of Great Britain. Catholicism has a life much more tenacious than that. It has seen the most implacable, the most terrible adversaries, and it has often had the malignant pleasure of throwing holy water on the tombs of the most enraged. Let us permit, then, our brethren of these countries to give themselves up to the sterile intemperance of their anti-Catholic zeal. Let them even mock at our Madonnas and our apparent devotion. With this passport we can conspire at our ease, and arrive little by little at the end we have in view.

Now the Papacy has been for seventeen centuries inherent to the history of Italy. Italy cannot breathe or move without the permission of the Supreme Pastor. With him she has the hundred arms of Briareus, without him she is condemned to a pitiable impotence. She has nothing but divisions to foment, hatreds to break out, and hostilities to manifest themselves from the highest chain of the Alps to the lowest of the Appenines. We cannot desire such a state of things. It is necessary, then, to seek a remedy for that situation. The remedy is found. The Pope, whoever he may be, will never come to the secret societies. It is for the secret societies to come first to the Church, in the resolve to conquer the two.
The work which we have undertaken is not the work of a day, nor of a month, nor of a year. It may last many years, a century perhaps, but in our ranks the soldier dies and the fight continues.

We do not mean to win the Popes to our cause, to make them neophytes of our principles, and propagators of our ideas. That would be a ridiculous dream, no matter in what manner events may turn. Should cardinals or prelates, for example, enter, willingly or by surprise, in some manner, into a part of our secrets, it would be by no means a motive to desire their elevation to the See of Peter. That elevation would destroy us. Ambition alone would bring them to apostasy from us. The needs of power would force them to immolate us. That which we ought to demand, that which we should seek and expect, as the Jews expected the Messiah, is a Pope according to our wants…. Do you wish to know the reason? It is because by that we should have no more need of the vinegar of Hannibal, no more need of the powder of cannon, no more need even of our arms. We have the little finger of the successor of St. Peter engaged in the plot, and that little finger is of more value for our crusade than all the Innocents, the Urbans, and the St. Bernards of Christianity.

We do not doubt that we shall arrive at that supreme term of all our efforts; but when? but how? The unknown does not yet manifest itself. Nevertheless, as nothing should separate us from the plan traced out; as, on the contrary, all things should tend to it – as if success were to crown the work scarcely sketched out tomorrow – we wish in this instruction which must rest a secret for the simple initiated, to give to those of the Supreme Lodge, councils with which they should enlighten the universality of the brethren, under the form of an instruction or memorandum. It is of special importance, and because of a discretion, the motives of which are transparent, never to permit it to be felt that these counsels are orders emanating from the Alta Vendita….

It is to the youth we must go. It is that which we must seduce; it is that which we must bring under the banner of the secret societies.…

Now then, in order to secure to us a Pope in the manner required, it is necessary to fashion for that Pope a generation worthy of the reign of which we dream. Leave on one side old age and middle life, go to the youth, and, if possible, even to infancy. Never speak in their presence a word of impiety or impurity. Maxima debetur puero reverentia. Never forget these words of the poet for they will preserve you from licences which it is absolutely essential to guard against for the good of the cause. In order to reap profit at the home of each family, in order to give yourself the right of asylum at the domestic hearth, you ought to present yourself with all the appearance of a man grave and moral. Once your reputation is established in the colleges, in the gymnasiums, in the universities, and in the seminaries – once that you shall have captivated the confidence of professors and students, so act that those who are principally engaged in the ecclesiastical state should love to seek your conversation. Nourish their souls with the splendours of ancient Papal Rome. There is always at the bottom of the Italian heart a regret for Republican Rome. Excite, enkindle those natures so full of warmth and of patriotic fire. Offer them at first, but always in secret, inoffensive books, poetry resplendent with national emphasis; then little by little you will bring your disciples to the degree of cooking desired. When upon all the points of the ecclesiastical state at once, this daily work shall have spread our ideas as the light, then you will be able to appreciate the wisdom of the counsel in which we take the initiative.

Events, which in our opinion, precipitate themselves too rapidly, go necessarily in a few months’ time to bring on an intervention of Austria. There are fools who in the lightness of their hearts please themselves in casting others into the midst of perils, and, meanwhile, there are fools who at a given hour drag on even wise men. The revolution which they meditate in Italy will only end in misfortunes and persecutions. Nothing is ripe, neither the men nor the things, and nothing shall be for a long time yet; but from these evils you can easily draw one new chord, and cause it to vibrate in the hearts of the young clergy. That is the hatred of the stranger. Cause the German to become ridiculous and odious even before his foreseen entry. With the idea of the Pontifical supremacy, mix always the old memories of the wars of the priesthood and the Empire. Awaken the smouldering passions of the Guelphs and the Ghibellines, and thus you will obtain for yourselves the reputation of good Catholics and pure patriots.
That reputation will open the way for our doctrines to pass to the bosoms of the young clergy, and go even to the depths of convents. In a few years the young clergy will have, by the force of events, invaded all the functions. They will govern, administer, and judge. They will form the council of the Sovereign. They will be called upon to choose the Pontiff who will reign; and that Pontiff, like the greater part of his contemporaries, will be necessarily imbued with the Italian and humanitarian principles which we are about to put in circulation. It is a little grain of mustard which we place in the earth, but the sun of Justice will develop it even to be a great power, and you will see one day what a rich harvest that little seed will produce.

In the way which we trace for our brethren there are found great obstacles to conquer, difficulties of more than one kind to surmount. They will be overcome by experience and by perspicacity; but the end is beautiful. What does it matter to put all the sails to the wind in order to attain it. You wish to revolutionize Italy? Seek out the Pope of whom we give the portrait. You wish to establish the reign of the elect upon the throne of the prostitute of Babylon? Let the clergy march under your banner in the belief always that they march under the banner of the Apostolic Keys. You wish to cause the last vestige of tyranny and of oppression to disappear? Lay your nets like Simon Barjona. Lay them in the depths of sacristies, seminaries, and convents, rather than in the depths of the sea, and if you will precipitate nothing you will give yourself a draught of fishes more miraculous than his. The fisher of fishes will become a fisher of men. You will bring yourselves as friends around the Apostolic Chair. You will have fished up a Revolution in Tiara and Cope, marching with Cross and banner – a Revolution which needs only to be spurred on a little to put the four quarters of the world on fire.

Let each act of your life tend then to discover the Philosopher’s Stone. The alchemists of the middle ages lost their time and the gold of their dupes in the quest of this dream. That of the secret societies will be accomplished for the most simple of reasons, because it is based on the passions of man. Let us not be discouraged then by a check, a reverse, or a defeat. Let us prepare our arms in the silence of the lodges, dress our batteries, flatter all passions the most evil and the most generous, and all lead us to think that our plans will succeed one day above even our most improbable calculations.[vii]
In the wake of Vatican II, traditionalist Roman Catholic groups see evidence that the Alta Vendita has indeed succeeded “above even the most improbable calculations.” As a result, some have developed a critical attitude toward church hierarchy in the belief that post-Vatican II teachings contradict and infect solemn Catholic dogmas with modernism, ecumenism, collegiality, and religious liberty, which are clearly reminiscent of the secret society’s objectives. Such secessionists point to examples like John Paul II’s 1982 prayer meeting at Assisi with over one hundred religious leaders including pagans, his meetings with the Dalai Lama (who placed a Buddhist statue on the altar in the Church of St. Francis), his receiving the mark of the adorers of the Hindu god Shiva, his meetings with devil worshipping voodoo high-priests (during which he even justified voodoo as possessing “truth and good, seeds of the Word”) and so on, all in accordance with the principles of Vatican II. Radical Catholic groups like the Sedevacantists (Latin: sede vacante, “the seat being vacant”) consider such activity evidence that the popes following Vatican II are illegitimate heretics and that the Holy See of Rome has been technically “vacant” since the death of either Pope Pius XII in 1958 or Pope John XXIII in 1963 (with some classifying John XXIII a Modernist antipope).

This conflict seems to be boiling under the surface, largely unknown to the public, but seen by such mystics as Father Herman Bernard Kramer (mentioned earlier) in his work, “The Book of Destiny.” During a strange interpretation he made of the twelfth chapter of the Book of Revelation concerning “the great wonder” mentioned in verse one, Father Kramer writes:
The ‘sign’ in heaven is that of a woman with child crying out in her travail and anguish of delivery. In that travail, she gives birth to some definite ‘person’ who is to RULE the Church with a rod of iron (verse 5). It then points to a conflict waged within the Church to elect one who was to ‘rule all nations’ in the manner clearly stated. In accord with the text this is unmistakably a PAPAL ELECTION, for only Christ and his Vicar have the divine right to rule ALL NATIONS… But at this time the great powers may take a menacing attitude to hinder the election of the logical and expected candidate by threats of a general apostasy, assassination or imprisonment of this candidate if elected.”[viii]
Although we disagree with Kramer’s interpretation of the book of Revelation, the idea that a specific “person” was born and was now of the appropriate age to fulfill the incarnation of St. Malachy’s Prophecy of the Popes, is without question. Whatever one makes of the Petrus Romanus prediction--and its divine, demonic, or self-fulfilling inspiration--the current pope Francis is the last on the list. Furthermore, Kramer’s fear that “great powers may take a menacing attitude to hinder the election of the logical and expected candidate” echoes the sentiment of priests mentioned elsewhere in the new book Petrus Romanus (GET IT FREE TODAY) who see a crises for the Church coming, and the Man of Sin rising as a result.
And one cannot help recognize something strange between ancient Catholic apparitions, prophecies, and Pope Francis's behavior.
For instance, Francis named himself after Saint Francis of Assissi (1226 A.D.) who prophesied:
At the time of this tribulation a man... will be raised to the Pontificate, who, by his cunning, will endeavor to draw many into error and death… Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it under foot and deny it…for in those days Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor, but a destroyer.[ix]

And it was John of Vitiguerro (13th Century) who said the pope of the Great Tribulation "will change his residence and the Church will not be defended for twenty-five months or more because, during all that time there will be no Pope in Rome…"

Is this why Pope Francis decided not to move into the papal apartment used by Benedict XVI and others before him?
