A post today on the Daily Paul website shows a fearsome black “special response team” armored vehicle on a flatbed trailer in transit somewhere in Kentucky.

The difference between this military vehicle and previous ones trotted out by the Ministry of Homeland Security is that the words “Immigration and Customs Enforcement” and “Police/Rescue” are missing.

Apparently, the pretense of a military response to armed illegal immigrants with RPGs is no longer required. I jest, but not much.

Over the last few months, the DHS has purchased millions of rounds of ammunition and an array of state-of-the-art weapons. As Mike Adams notes, the 450 million rounds of ammo purchased by the DHS is enough to wage more than 6 years of Iraq-level combat.

The DHS was established after the attacks of September 11, 2001, ostensibly to protect the homeland from terrorist attacks and as a cabinet-level bureaucracy that responds to man-made accidents and natural disasters.

'End of the world as we know it': Kaspersky warns of cyber-terror apocalypse

After his eponymously-named lab discovered Flame, "the most sophisticated cyber weapon yet unleashed," Eugene Kaspersky believes that the evolving threat of “cyber terrorism” could spell the end of life on Earth as we know it.

­Doomsday scenarios are a common occurrence in 2012, but coming from a steely-eyed realist like Eugene Kaspersky, his calls for a global effort to halt emerging cyber threats should raise alarm bells.

A global Internet blackout and crippling attacks against key infrastructure are among two possible cyber-pandemics he outlined.

"It's not cyber war, it's cyber terrorism, and I'm afraid the game is just beginning. Very soon, many countries around the world will know it beyond a shadow of a doubt,” Kaspersky told reporters at a Tel Aviv University cyber security conference.

“I'm afraid it will be the end of the world as we know it," he warned. "I'm scared, believe me."

His stark warning came soon after researchers at Kaspersky Lab unearthed Flame, possibly the most complex cyber threat ever. While the espionage toolkit infected systems across the Middle East, Iran appears to have been its primary target.

Flame seems to be a continuation of Stuxnet, the revolutionary infrastructure-sabotaging computer worm that made mincemeat of Iran’s uranium enrichment facility at Natanz in 2009-2010.

As Flame is capable of recording audio via a microphone, taking screen shots, turning Bluetooth-enabled computers into beacons to download names and phone numbers from other Bluetooth enabled devices, Kaspersky is certain that a nation-station is behind the cyber espionage virus.

While Kaspersky says that the United States, Britain, India, Israel, China and Russia are among the countries capable of developing such software, which he estimates cost $100 million to develop, he did not limit the threat to these states.

"Even those countries that do not yet have the necessary expertise [to create a virus like Flame] can employ engineers or kidnap them, or turn to hackers for help.”
Like Stuxnet, Flame attacks Windows operating systems. Considering this reality, Kaspersky was emphatic: "Software that manages industrial systems or transportation or power grids or air traffic must be based on secure operating systems. Forget about Microsoft, Linux or Unix."
Kaspersky believes the evolution from cyber war to cyber terrorism comes from the indiscriminate nature of cyber weapons. Very much like a modern-day Pandora’s Box, Flame and other forms of malware cannot be controlled upon release. Faced with a replicating threat that knows no national boundaries, cyber weapons can take down infrastructure around the world, hurting scores of innocent victims along the way.

Kaspersky believes that it necessary to view cyber weapons with the same seriousness as chemical, biological and even nuclear threats. Mutually assured destruction should exclude them from the arsenals of nation states.

The apocalyptic scenario he painted is fit for the silver screen. No surprise then, that it was a film that converted him to the idea that cyber terrorism was a clear and present danger.

By his own admission, Kaspersky watched the 2007 Film Live Free or Die Hard with a glass of whiskey in one hand and a cigarette in the other shouting: “Why are you telling them [how to do this]?”

The film’s plot revolves around an NYPD detective played by Bruce Willis, fighting a gang of cyber terrorists who are targeting FBI computer systems.

"Before Die Hard 4.0, the word cyber terrorism was a taboo in my company. It could not be uttered aloud or discussed with the media. I tried to keep the Pandora’s Box closed. When the film hit the screens, I canceled that ban," Kaspersky admitted.

The Real Luciferian Purpose Behind The Chemtrail And Electromagnetic

“One day, out of the blue, Langley called me. He wanted to know if I
was aware of 'chemtrails'. His question caught me by surprise, as I
had been aware of the unusual spraying of these 'man-made contrails'
for some time, but had never brought the subject up to him.

'They are trying to remove the Alpha and the Omega', he told me. He
told me that he had been involved, during the Vietnam War, with the
'Blazer' project. Blazer had several compartments, some relating to
weather modification over Vietnam, some with secure and encrypted
communication, some with weapons technology and some were focused on
experimental and rather dark and occult research.

He told me that most of the Blazer work was cutting-edge, but pretty
much standard, operational use of frequencies and materials to encrypt
messages and direct weather patterns. He was concerned, though, with
the ramifications of the darker aspects of Blazer, primarily the
attempts to tap into and manipulate the 'other dimensions', or the
spiritual realm.

He described it to me like this:

'Think of a rainbow… all the colors flowing together like a river. Now
envision a river… all of that power being channeled toward the sea.
The river has a path and a direction, and it is held in check by the
banks of the river. Imagine that the far bank is the Alpha, and the
near bank is the Omega. If either bank is overcome, the result is
chaos… a flood. So the Alpha and the Omega… the 'banks'… hold the
power of the river in check.'

I understood this concept.

'Now imagine…', he continued, '… that the colors of the rainbow are
different frequencies of energy, all being held in check by the
'banks' that are the Alpha and Omega frequencies. Life is orderly, as
long as these two frequencies are there and doing what they do. We
don't often see rainbows, but God created the rainbow as a visible
sign to us that He is in control of all of the forces of nature and
spirit on this planet. We appreciate it when we see a rainbow… it is,
somehow, a spiritual comfort to us. All is well, so to speak.'

His tone became more serious and ominous.

'What they are working on… and it's very 'black ops' … is a way to
remove the Alpha and Omega, the 'banks' that hold all of this in
check. This would allow the intermingling of forces that are all now
kept separate from one another… forces that were not intended to be
together and operating on the same dimensional plane of existence.'
'It will be the unleashing of chaos onto the Earth…'


Langley went on:

'Consider the Alpha and Omega to be the 'God Force' in the universe…
When you think about it, God had been a real presence upon the earth…
I mean that He literally walked with men upon the Earth at the time of
creation, and for some time after. Adam and his family saw God and
interacted with Him on a daily basis, until their 'fall'. Later, Enoch
had a face to face knowledge of God, and was taken by Him, after
imparting Godly wisdom to Enoch, that he was instructed to share with
his descendants.

Then God removed Himself from direct contact with men. He still was
involved with mankind, but not directly, as we would consider it. He
chose to interact with us in an unseen manner… except in those rare
cases… Moses on the mountaintop, and in the form of the Holy Spirit
descending upon Jesus in the form of a dove… when He wanted to remove
all doubt of Who He was.

'Sin' had entered in, with the act of Adam and Eve allowing themselves
to be deceived into turning against the Will of God in the Garden of
Eden. In effect, and on a spiritual level, they had stepped outside
the 'banks', the boundaries that God had set for them. The result was
chaos.'.

Langley now had my full attention.

'When you view this in the context of 'Science' - or 'Alchemy',
everything that came afterwards is understandable… Nimrod chose to
allow himself to be influenced by… and then fully embraced… the dark
forces. This led to his determination to build the Tower of Babel.
This was the third attempt by dark forces, or, 'fallen angels' to get
men… humans… to co-operate with them in their attempt to return to
their former abode… Heaven… and to finish their attempt at
overthrowing God from His throne.

The first attempt was in Eden. The second was in convincing Enoch to
plead their case before God. The interim period after that was the
time before the flood, when the giants were born, and the attempt was
made to subdue the earth by force… to take the world that God had
created for man. At Babel, the attempt to convince mankind to assist
them in reasoning with God on their behalf was abandoned. The new
strategy was to create a means to rise up and assault the gates of
Heaven. This required time and human technology. The fallen ones could
not return to Heaven on their own… they were banished. In order to
make their assault, they needed the willing participation of humans.

The decision by Nimrod to embrace the dark forces led to his
'thoughts' to build the tower. Note that God took notice of this
building project, and decided to confuse the languages of men and tear
down the tower. 'If we do not do this, then nothing will be kept from
them, that they conceive'. Think about how unusual a thing that
statement is… God is God… He can do whatever He wants, but the
building of this tower was of concern to Him?

That is a striking statement!

The tower represented something unique… a willing participation
between fallen angels and a human… God's creation for His pleasure… in
agreement to assault the gates of Heaven. God knew that He had a plan
for the salvation of mankind… Jesus… Satan also knew this. The satanic
plan was to somehow unite willing humans with fallen angels, in an
attempt to return 'home'.

Towers, pyramids, mountains, all places of dark worship, stood as
reminders to humans that they were being directed to look upwards, to
the 'heavens'. Patiently, these dark forces waited, 'suggesting' to
men new ideas and inventions…new technologies and innovations… the
discovery of new materials and concepts that would eventually lead to
today's 'information and technology revolution'…

Which is nothing more than a return to the Tower of Babel.'

Our conversation went on for hours that day, and many other hours on
many other days.

The basic overview is this:

Mankind has come to the point in history where he is, technologically,
able to do most anything that he conceives of. With the explosion of
the internet, and modes of travel and communications, with scientific
breakthroughs and innovations, (all 'guided' in some manner by dark
forces), we stand at that place in time when the greater 'master plan'
of dark forces can be realized and acted upon. Most humans are not
aware that their work has this 'greater purpose', and they willingly
go about their research with blinders on.

We reject God and His perfect order, and replace it with the same
'reason' that was used in Eden and with Enoch, in an attempt by fallen
angels to enact their 'final plan' to overthrow God.

Our reward for this work is the praise of man, financial gain and a
higher standard of living, which causes us to seek after this type of
gain. The result being our focus on the things of man, rather than the
things of God.

'Thinking themselves wise, they became fools'.

As to the removal of the Alpha and Omega…

Langley was convinced, (as am I), that the final chapter is about to
be revealed, (it has already been written - Revelation). That we are
on the verge of witnessing the restraining walls between 'dimensions'…
the restraining power of the Holy Spirit… being removed. This will not
be accomplished by an assault on Heaven, but by God's purposeful
removal of this restraining Spirit from the world.

At this time, humans will have made a conscious choice as to which
side they will serve… God or darkness.

There will be a 'winnowing' period, in which 'head knowledge' of God
and His Purpose, will be challenged, (as opposed to 'heart
knowledge'), by an unimaginable time of violence and lawlessness.

'Christians' will not escape this time… in fact, it is for this very
reason, the 'refining' of mankind… that this short time of chaos will
be allowed.

The battle is already won.

The purpose of this time of trouble is to refine and purge out the
impurities of mankind, so that the perfect can come. In the meantime,
we go about our lives in darkness… not seeing what is right in front
of us, unless we consciously choose to do so.

'I Am the Alpha and Omega… the Beginning and the End… The First and the Last'.

Oddly, I found some further (incomplete) notes from my CIA friend "M.
Langley" yesterday. (You may recall that he passed away in 2009). He
was trying to tell me about this then. I wasn't as in tune as I am
now. He said:

"Remember that the rainbow is more than just a pretty promise that God
put in the sky. It is a visual representation of the atmosphere... the
different colors represent frequencies. Those frequency layers were
put there by God as a barrier to block certain dark frequencies from
being able to be as active on the Earth.

"Blue Beam" is more than a name. The Blue, Violet and Purple
colors/frequencies are the "God' frequencies... the Alpha and Omega
frequencies. The current scientific work being done by TPTB are to
lessen or eliminate those three colors, or barriers, so that there
will be an increase in the dark frequencies. The more readily visable
frequencies/colors represent the more worldly and 'dark' forces...
(which does not seem natural to us, as yellows and oranges would seem,
to us, to be 'happy' colors.).

The more visable to us in this state of existance, the further these
frequencies are from God... more worldly.

Removing the blue-violet-purple, through HAARP and other means results
in a concentration of negative power. by eliminating or lessening the
blue range of light, they are removing the barriers that keep the dark
frequencies in check... allowing them to concentrate... allowing dark
forces to come together and increase in strength.

God's rainbow is a visable reminder that He has all of the forces of
nature and spirit in check. Some men understand this and are working
to eliminate those checks and balances, for their own and the dark
force's agendas. The rainbow represents the atmospheric 'covering'
that God placed over/around the Earth after the flood, so that demonic
forces would not have the ability to directly interact with men like
they did in the days of Noah.

Of course... The Bible says that the end times will be AS in the days
of Noah... so you can see how it is important to TPTB to put things
back like the were before the flood?

That is the purpose of HAARP and 'chemtrails' and all of the other
projects. The true purpose is known by TPTB, but even those high up in
the programs don't realize their true purpose.”

Jerry Sandusky 'shared boys he molested with other high-profile pedophiles linked to Penn State as part of sex ring'

This is here because it's happening on a regular basis.  Extremely wealthy elitists, power brokers all around the world consistently engage in this type of behavior.  Similar cases in Missouri, Washington D.C., Great Britain, Belgium and Portugal in recent years have all been dropped, or resolved with only a few low level operatives being arrested.  The same ones pulling the strings are commiting the crimes, and they are not likely to face judgment in this age, but what a judgment they will face in the age to come.

Federal officials have launched an investigation into a possible pedophile ring involving disgraced former Penn State defensive coordinator and convicted child molester Jerry Sandusky.

According to RadarOnline, both the FBI and a criminal investigative division of the United States Postal Service are looking into allegations that Sandusky shared boys with other men connected to Penn State as part of a child sex ring.

The news comes a little over a month after Sandusky, 68, was convicted on 45 counts of child sexual abuse for molesting 10 boys over the course of 15 years.

‘Investigators have interviewed at least one man who claims to have knowledge of Sandusky and a very prominent man, with strong ties to Penn State, both sexually abusing a boy,’ a source familiar with the situation told RadarOnline.com.

The United States Postal Inspectors office in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, has spearheaded the investigation because pornographic materials involving underage boys have been transmitted through the mail.

Analyzing a computer seized from Sandusky, investigators are also looking into whether he sent ‘seductive letters’ across state lines for sexual purposes, according to CBS. Some of these letters were said to be sent to some of his victims.

Sandusky is expected to be sentenced to a life in prison for sexually abusing underage boys. Many of the victims came from the Second Mile charity, which Sandusky founded in 1977 to help troubled youth.

Youth suicide cluster in Delaware investigated by CDC after 11 suicides and 116 attempts in first part of this year alone

The Centers for Disease control is investigating why 11 young people in Delaware committed suicide in the first four months of this year and another 116 tried to kill themselves.

A preliminary study of the deaths released today found that many of those who killed themselves had multiple risk factors, but that there was no clear link between them.

The report followed a community outcry after three teenagers at Polytech High School killed themselves within two months of each other.

The CDC report does not identify the hometowns or schools of the dead, but it has been widely reported that earlier this year, Polytech wrestler Nick Capetola and Polytech senior Tegan Deanna Penney took their own lives as well.

(CNSNews.com) – Thanks to an Obamacare regulation that took effect on Aug. 1, health care plans in Oregon will now be required to provide free sterilizations to 15- year-old girls even if the parents of those girls do not consent to the procedure.
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius finalized the regulation earlier this year.

It says that all health care plans in the United States–except those provided by actual houses of worship organized under the section of the Internal Revenue Code reserved for churches per se–must provide coverage, without cost-sharing, for sterilizations and all Food and Drug Administration-approved contraceptives to “all women with reproductive capacity.

In practical terms, “all women with reproductive capacity” means girls as young as about 12. That, according to the National Institutes of Health, is when girls usually start menstruating.

When the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act–a.k.a. Obamacare–was enacted in March 2010 it included (in Section 2713) a non-specific requirement that health care plans must provide “additional preventive services” to women. These unspecified “additional preventive services,” the law said, were to be “provided for in comprehensive guidelines supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration,” a division of the Department of Health and Human Services.
In developing the regulation to define these “additional preventive services,” HHS commissioned a federally funded committee at the Institute of Medicine (IOM) to recommend what they should to be.

In July 2011, this committee issued a report that said: “The committee recommends for consideration as a preventive service for women: the full range of Food and Drug Administration-approved contraceptive methods, sterilization procedures, and patient education and counseling for women with reproductive capacity.”

Dewey and his cohorts have at the centre of their theories the denial of absolutes whose obvious fruit are "relativism" and thus the total chaos and confusion within American and Western education. It is a cynical, wicked programme of deliberately "dumbing down" children and moulding their minds into unthinking, uncritical, near empty vessels into which their perversions are poured. There a various reasons for this deliberate destruction of education but the two main ones serve two distinct but mutually inclusive goals. First, to serve the tyrannical desire of corporate titans by providing them with compliant employees and a guaranteed and dependent population thereby giving them a predictable business environment characterised by a rigid, caste-like social hierarchy of haves and have-nots.


Second, to destroy the moral and spiritual well-being of children and make them more amenable to the moral outrages necessary for the destruction of Natural Moral Order on Earth. About 30 earthquakes strike in Southern California 'sequence'

A cluster of earthquakes that began Tuesday night continued Wednesday in northern OrangeCounty, keeping residents on edge but causing little significant damage.

Photos emerged of bottles falling off a supermarket shelf in Anaheim Hills, but fire officials said they didn't get reports of anything more serious.

At a news conference Wednesday morning, Kate Hutton of the U.S. Geological Survey at Caltech said there had been at least 30 quakes since last night, but only three could be felt by residents.

"This is all part of the same earthquake sequence; they're all in the same area,'' Hutton told reporters at the briefing, which was televised by several TV stations.

Experts said more aftershocks are likely. LA Times

 

Hutton said there were two 4.5-magnitude earthquakes, one on Tuesday night and another on Wednesday morning, and then there was also a 3.4-magnitude earthquake.

"This is all part of the same earthquake sequence. They're all in the same area," Hutton said. abclocal.go.com

Hutton said there are a few ways to look at the event. One is that there was a double earthquake, with two main shocks. The other way is to consider this an earthquake swarm, where there are a series of earthquakes that are about the same size or smaller. abclocal.go.com

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, Wednesday's 4.5-magnitude quake hit one mile north-northwest of Yorba Linda and four miles east-northeast of Placentia at 9:33 a.m. PT. Along with much of OrangeCounty, residents in Whittier, West Covina, Long Beach, North Hollywood and San Bernardino reported feeling the quake. abclocal.go.com

Seismologists say the worst is still yet to come. According to a recent study, the West Coast will experience a catastrophic quake during the next 50 years. RT

Although Tuesday night's 4.4-magnitude earthquake near Yorba Linda, CA and a series of aftershocks afterward was not immediately blamed for any injuries or extensive damage, there could be a natural disaster of epic proportions during the next few decades. A study released out of Oregon State University last week did not warn researchers about this week's quake, but it did lead them to suggest that a tragedy on par with last year's Fukushima, Japan disaster could be only a few years away. Informants and military personnel are coming forth anonymously to confirm that martial law “is right around the corner.”

However, right now we are under a silent martial law and citizens are reporting strange and unexplainable activity from the US armed forces and multiple federal agencies that point to a covert preparatory operation to completely lock down America in the very near future.

Sources from multiple locations across the nation have independently confirmed that the US military are repositioning soldiers in conjunction with allied foreign troops in the initial stages of martial law.

The US military are secretly moving massive amounts of “equipment” across the country consistently for more than a year. In Phoenix, Arizona, tractor-trailers transporting tanks on public highways have been spotted.

One witness stated that he saw these flatbeds multiple times in the month of June. Eye witness reports are coming primarily from the northern and southern Border States.
Peter Santilli, an ex-marine informant who was a specialist in aviation deployed weapons, explains that a refrigerated truck, allocated by the administration department on base, was directed to the commissary, where the unsuspecting driver believed that he was transporting food.

The weapon was placed at the head of the trailer, and covered up with either food stores (like cans of soup) or body bags. In the event that the truck is stopped en route, the weapon would be well hidden and go undetected by inspectors on the public highways.

Santilli, who was assigned to ride in the cab of the truck with the driver, says that his orders were to make sure the truck arrived at its destination.

If there were problems concerning potential civil unrest, he was to radio into his superiors for aid by either air or ground support. Should the situation warrant serious attention; crowd control methods would be implemented.

One possible scenario was the use of cluster bomb units (CBUs) that will emit upon detonation, a “sleep and kill” chemical weapon that will not disturb infrastructure, but is lethal to all living things within the effected zone.

Santilli describes these particular 3 unit CBUs as shaped like water-heaters with a coned top and plunger-like device. Once deployed in the air, a parachute assists these CBUs to the targeted area. And when detonated, a deadly chemical gas will kill every human and animal in the specified cordoned area.

The acquisition of armory by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and contracts for bullet-proof glass for check-point booths to be positioned strategically throughout the nation on public highways have heightened awareness that the US government is preparing for a well-planned domestic military action. Of all the tall tales in the science-fiction TV series Star Trek, what impressed me most when I was a little boy was the Vulcan mind meld.
Laying his hands on the head of a human (or, in one of the films, a humpback whale), Mr Spock could, for a moment, dissolve the distance between two living things.
Each experienced everything the other felt, thought, knew and saw.
Now it seems scientists are about to make the Vulcan mind meld a reality – and go far beyond it.
Ten years ago, the US National Science Foundation predicted ‘network-enhanced telepathy’ – sending thoughts over the internet – would be practical by the 2020s.

And thanks to neuroscientists at the University of California, we seem to be on schedule.
Last September, they asked volunteers to watch Hollywood film trailers and then reconstructed the clips by scanning their subjects’ brain activity.
‘We’re opening a window into the movies in our minds,’ Professor Jack Gallant announced.
Last week, the scientists boldly went further still. They charted the electrical activity in the brains of volunteers who were listening to human speech and then they fed the results into computers which translated the signals back into language.
The technique remains crude, and has so far made out only five distinct words, but humanity has crossed a threshold.
We can now read people’s minds. On Star Trek, the Vulcan mind meld had medical benefits, curing a nasty imaginary infection called Pa’nar syndrome.

But the new breakthroughs promise to deliver much greater – and real – benefits.
No longer need strokes and neurodegenerative diseases rob people of speech because we can turn their brainwaves directly into words.
But this is only the beginning. Neuroscientists are going to make the mind meld look like child’s play. Mankind is merging with its machines.
The process began centuries ago with simple devices such as eyeglasses and ear trumpets that could dramatically improve human lives.
Then came better machines, such as hearing aids; and then machines that could save lives, including pacemakers and dialysis machines.
By the second decade of the 21st Century, we have become used to organs grown in laboratories, genetic surgery and designer babies.

In 2002, medical researchers used enzymes and DNA to build the first molecular computers, and in 2004 improved versions were being injected into people’s veins to fight cancer.
By 2020 we may be able to put even cleverer nanocomputers into our brains to speed up synaptic links, give ourselves perfect memory and perhaps cure dementia.
But inserting technology into human brains is not the only thing going on. Some scientists also want to insert human brains into technology.
Since the Sixties, computer chips have been doubling their speed and halving their cost every 18 months or so.

If the trend continues, the inventor and predictor Ray Kurzweil has pointed out that by 2029 we will have computers powerful enough to run programs reproducing the 10,000 trillion electrical signals that flash around your skull every second.
They will also have enough memory to store the ten trillion recollections that make you who you are.

And they will also be powerful enough to scan, neuron by neuron, every contour and wrinkle of your brain.
What this means is that if the trends of the past 50 years continue, in 17 years’ time we will be able to upload an electronic replica of your mind on to a machine.
There will be two of you – one a flesh-and-blood animal, the other inside a computer’s circuits.
And if the trends hold fast beyond that, Kurzweil adds, by 2045 we will have a computer that is powerful enough to host every one of the eight billion minds on Earth.
Carbon and silicon-based intelligence will merge to form a single global consciousness.
Kurzweil calls this ‘The Singularity’, a moment when ‘the pace of technological change will be so rapid, its impact so deep . . . that technology appears to be expanding at infinite speed’.
At that point, we will have left the Vulcan mind meld far behind. But even this may not be the end of the story.
Much of the research behind last week’s breakthrough in brain science was funded not by universities but by DARPA, the US Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency.
It was DARPA that brought us the internet (then called the Arpanet) in the Seventies, and DARPA’s Brain Interface Project was a pioneer in molecular computing.
More recently, DARPA’s Silent Talk programme has been exploring mind-reading technology with devices that can pick up the electrical signals inside soldiers’ brains and send them over the internet.
With these implants, entire armies will be able to talk without radios. Orders will leap instantly into soldiers’ heads and commanders’ wishes will become the wishes of their men. Hitler would have loved it.

Some of the clearest thinking about the new technologies has been done in the world’s departments of defence, and the conclusions the soldiers draw are alarming.
For example, US Army Colonel Thomas Adams thinks that military technology is already moving beyond what he calls ‘human space’, as robotic weapons become ‘too fast, too small, too numerous, and . . . create an environment too complex for humans to direct’.
Technology, Col Adams suspects, is ‘rapidly taking us to a place where we may not want to go, but probably are unable to avoid’.
As goes war, so, perhaps, goes everything else. The merging of mankind and its machines that Kurzweil predicts for the mid-21st Century may, in fact, turn out just to be a lay-by on the way to a very different destination.
Later in the century, what we condescendingly call ‘artificial’ intelligence might replace us humans just as thoroughly as we humans once replaced all our evolutionary ancestors.
All this will come to pass . . .  unless, of course, it doesn’t. Maybe the trends Kurzweil and Col Adams identify will slow down, or even stall altogether.
And maybe the critics who mockingly call the Singularity ‘the Rapture for Nerds’ will be proved right.
But on the other hand, maybe the Nobel Prize-winning chemist Richard Smalley is closer to the truth when he points out: ‘When a scientist says something is possible, they’re probably underestimating how long it will take.
But if they say it’s impossible, they’re probably wrong.’
The University of California’s neuroscientists have taken us one more step towards a final frontier far beyond anything dreamed of in Star Trek.

(CNSNews.com) - The U.S. State Department removed the sections covering religious freedom from the Country Reports on Human Rights that it released on May 24, three months past the statutory deadline Congress set for the release of these reports.
The new human rights reports--purged of the sections that discuss the status of religious freedom in each of the countries covered--are also the human rights reports that include the period that covered the Arab Spring and its aftermath.

Thus, the reports do not provide in-depth coverage of what has happened to Christians and other religious minorities in predominantly Muslim countries in the Middle East that saw the rise of revolutionary movements in 2011 in which Islamist forces played an instrumental role.

For the first time ever, the State Department simply eliminated the section of religious freedom in its reports covering 2011 and instead referred the public to the 2010 International Religious Freedom Report – a full two years behind the times – or to the annual report of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), which was released last September and covers events in 2010 but not 2011.

Leonard Leo, who recently completed a term as chairman of the USCIRF, says that removing the sections on religious freedom from the State Department's Country Reports on Human Roghts is a bad idea.

Since 1998, when Congress created USCIRF, the State Department has been required to issue a separate yearly report specifically on International Religious Freedom.

But a section reporting on religious freedom has also always been included in the State Department's legally required annual country-by-country reports on human rights--that is, until now.

And this is the first year the State Department would have needed to report on the effect the Arab Spring has had on religious freedom in the Middle East--had its reports, as always before, included a section on religious freedom.

“The commission that I served on has some real concerns about that bifurcation, because the human rights reports receive a lot of attention, and to have pulled religious freedom out of it means that fewer people will obtain information about what’s going on with that particular freedom or right. So you don’t have the whole picture because they split it up now,” Leo told CNSNews.com.

Former U.S. diplomat Thomas Farr says it’s possible that the move to totally separate religious freedom from the human rights reports could simply be a bureaucratic maneuver.

But another possibility is much more likely.

“The other possibility is the Obama administration is downplaying international religious freedom,” Farr said.

Farr, who served in the State Department under both Presidents Clinton and George W. Bush, was the first director of the Office of International Religious Freedom.
“I mean, it is important to note here that I do not know--I have no personal knowledge of the logic that went into removing religious freedom from the broader human rights report; but I also have observed during the three-and-a-half years of the Obama administration that the issue of religious freedom has been distinctly downplayed,”

Currently a visiting associate professor of religion and world affairs in the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, Farr directs the program on Religion and U.S. Foreign Policy and the Project on Religious Freedom at the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace and World Affairs at Georgetown.

He told CNSNews.com that far more resources have been allocated by the Obama administration to other human rights issues than have been directed toward religious freedom.

“(T)he ambassador-at-large for international religious freedom, for example, who is the official charged by the law to lead U.S. religious freedom policy, did not even step foot into her office until two-and-a-half years were gone of a four-year administration,” he said.

“Whereas other human rights priorities of the administration, such as the ambassador-at-large for global women’s issues, were in place within months. So that tells you something.

“It tells me that this has never been a priority for the Obama administration, and it’s not now,” he said.

“So it seems to me plausible to at least question the removal of religious freedom from the human rights report, although, as I say, there could be other explanations, less insidious, if you will.”

Insecticides Modified in GM Corn Polluting U.S. Waters

The short take on this story is avoid eating corn products.  All corn products.  And soy.  Sorry about that, but almost all of those two foods have been genetically modified.  Which is bad for us humans.  Really bad.

Corn, a crop most likely to be genetically modified – with 70 percent of corn engineered simply to drown in Monsanto’s best-selling herbicide Roundup - is casting off its GMO contaminants into surrounding waterways, and likely making it into your drinking water. According to researchers, the insecticides modified into the corn are being detected in streams up to 500 meters away from corn farms, and quite possibly further.

The research was conducted in the states of Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana, where corn fields are abundant. Scientists found the bacterial protein washed off the corn and directly into the streams. While they won’t say for certain what this means for human health, the consensus is that it can’t be good.

According to U.K.’s Independent, U.S. corn has a gene from the Bacillus thuriengensis (BT) bacterium inserted into it to repel bugs. This gene produced the Cry1Ab protein, which “has insecticidal properties.” It’s this protein that is being found in the water system.

It’s believed the protein is making its way to the water because of the practice of leaving plant material on the field until the next season. This “no till” method is used because it prevents erosion, but it also provides an opportunity for the potentially dangerous protein to be washed away.

And while the GM corn is a culprit in polluting our waters, research has pointed to GMO farming in general and chemicals like glyphosate for being significant causes of water pollution. One explosive study confirmed that glyphosate, the active ingredient residing in the ever-so-popular Roundup product from Monsanto, is making its way into groundwater across the nation through widespread contamination of aquifers, wells, and springs.

Needless to say, this isn’t the first time Bt has been in the news. This spring we reported on a study linking Bt insecticide to the death of human kidney cells.
Despite this and other troubling news about GMO crops, the United States remains steadfast in its protection against agri-giants like Monsanto, preferring to please them rather than protect the people.

In 2009, more than 85% of American corn crops were genetically modified, but that number has likely increased since that time. All the while, other countries in Europe don’t even allow the GMO corn or at the very minimum label food sources that contain GMO ingredients. No similar protections are provided in the United States.
