Hosana (Yasha na in Hebrew) means "save now!". It's the cry of a people who acknowledge they need salvation, they need a savior. This was the cry of the people (Ps. 118:25-26, Matt. 21:9) as Jesus entered Jerusalem on the 10th of Nisan in what we now call the "triumphal entry". Today is the 10th of Nisan, and as good of a time as any to remember the first coming of Jesus. The cries of rejoicing will be much louder at the second coming, I'm quite sure...
