It's nice to see this old news documentary on the Bell Island Explosion and the East Coast Booms of 1977. Much of this was initially called "super lightning" (whatever that is) and, when that lame explanation failed, it was blamed on the Soviets. The Russians were testing to be sure, but are we so naive as to say that American citizens were aware of this cutting edge technology and our military was not experimenting with it? This early video points the finger at our military. And it's 35 years old. So what do they have today?
