History of Thanksgiving

Ironically, the "Pilgrims" weren't known by that name until the 1820's, about 200 years after the "Separatists" as they were originally known arrived on the continent.

Although Thanksgiving celebrations dated back to the first European settlements in America, it was not until the 1860s that Abraham Lincoln declared the last Thursday of November to be a national holiday.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 - In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

My hometown, Ferguson Missouri is DESTROYED -- Opinion and Commentary

A message to the main stream media, police, law enforcement, government (local , state, and national).... also to my viewers, protesters, and even the lawless rioters :

As most of my viewers know by now, I grew up in Ferguson, and live in St. Louis -- and they know I'm extremely concerned with the police state problems we've been seeing GROW in the United States over the past several years.

I've been smeared across the world by "big brother" , main stream media, and even shills online who cannot stand the information I bring to the table. In the past I've covered controversial topics like weather modification, and false flag attacks (LAX, boston bombing, Ottawa parliament, Rogers Retribution, Sandy Hook etc)

Being someone who has been an outspoken critic of this developing "new world order" police aggressiveness , now I speak to my so-called peers...... protesters who are upset with the system.... people who do NOT want to hear about any more people being shot by police over petty things.

Whites, blacks, hispanics, asians, and several other races have been on the receiving end of serious wrongdoing by police over the past few years.
MRAP military vehicles, over armed police, NSA spying, government encroachment upon our rights ... all signs of a developing police state.
Meanwhile, we have out of control mobs on the streets , destroying things, stealing things, and being generally lawless.... doing these things under the banner of being "protesters" demanding some kind of "justice".
You LOSE the right to peaceful assembly for justice, when your assembly is not peaceful and committing unjust acts against fellow citizens.

It's called rioting when its midnight, and the group is mixed with people who are looting, burning, throwing things, and shooting guns... this not 'protesting' !
Protesting at midnight in a burned out neighborhood destroyed by rioters multiple times? Protesting on South Grand where its mom + pop shops along with racially diverse people??

DESTROYING shops on South Grand? huh?
Out of control mob screaming something about "democracy"?
They're out pushing "democracy"... er.. MOBocracy...
They don't realize we're not a democracy, we're a republic who elects LEADERS democratically... but our laws are made by people who are supposed to sometimes DEFY the will of the people to protect the rights of even 1 person.
Democracy is 51% vs. 49%... i.e.. MOB rule.
Democracy is how witch hunts begin. No joke. A mob "votes" to do something, and if the majority say yes, they do it.
If you disagree with the voting mob majority, they kill you or ignore you.

Democracy is not freedom, its rule by a majority over a minority.
How is that good?!
So, when they're out there screaming THIS IS WHAT DEMOCRACY LOOKS LIKE... they're right. A mob denying evidence , while destroying things, and demanding somekind of unattainable "justice" for Mike Brown, who tried to grab a cops gun!

Once Again, The Temple Mount is the Heart of the Matter

It is also the center of all the prophecy that is soon to be fulfilled...

There is a strategic Palestinian Arab plan. The pulling on Al Aqsa can lead to an unraveling of the whole Zionist enterprise. We ignore it at our peril.

In Jewish tradition, the Temple Mount, Har Habayit, is uniquely holy, special and significant.

Not only the site of the site of the First and Second Temples, the Mount, Mount Moriah, is considered to be the site of where Abraham sacrificed Isaac, Jacob dreamed of the ladder ascending to heaven, and in some interpretations, the site of Gan Eden itself.

Al Aqsa occupies a corner of the Mount, part of the Herodian extension, not considered to be of any significant stature by Jews, and frankly, a place of zero interest to us
And while our political leaders are eager to mute its significance, our adversaries have correctly perceived its importance. In true supersecessionist fashion, they have raised the Temple Mount as an existential issue in the form of mythical threats to the Al Aqsa mosque.

Al Aqsa occupies a corner of the Mount, part of the Herodian extension of the plateau, not considered to be of any significant stature by Jews, and frankly, a place of zero interest to us.

However, employing the classic meme of bogeyman-like threats to it, anti-Israel forces from within and from without Israel, have found in Al Aqsa, the all-encompassing grievance and the great rallying cry for attacking Israel and any Jew that happens to be in it.

Once again the Arabs have hauled out the Big Lie, the threats to Al Aqsa, and the accusations of Judaizing the Temple Mount, which in turn reflect the Great Projection: their own deep-seated desire to throw us off the Mount,

Throwing Jews off the Mount by screaming about what we are supposedly doing to them (which of course is what they clearly want to do to us) is part of the crucial battle for the control of Jerusalem, and by extension all of Israel.

Our enemies rightfully appreciate that if we surrender on that which is most important to us, we will eventually surrender on everything else.

This is no mere turf war disagreement, nor a dispute about a modus vivendus for shared sacred space. Rather, the Temple Mount is for our adversaries the symbol of religious sovereignty, and by extension political sovereignty.

Never ones to use nuance or subtlety or even to be dissuaded by the facts, our adversaries have been admirably “on message:” Jews are trying to destroy Al Aqsa, Jews are trying to rid us of their connection to the Mount, Jews are trying to Judaize Jerusalem starting right here on the Temple Mount.

The hope and the expectation is that the world will rally to their cause, and that their insistence, backed by horrific violence, will intimidate Israelis into placating them by ceding Jewish rights and the time immemorial Jewish connection to the Mount.

But in this fight, we cannot cede the field, We cannot surrender. We must see the fight for what it has become, the distillation of all grievance, of all effort to defeat us.

The one thing that we must concede is their basic assumption that the control of the Temple Mount is tantamount to the spiritual control of Jerusalem, and by extension all of Israel.

The concept of the “status quo” has become a cruel absurdity, since the new “status quo” that Palestinians are seeking to convince the world is just and proper has Jews hounded off the Temple Mount.

In their new status quo the entire Mount is Al Aqsa, and per force there is no room for Jews anywhere there in holy Muslim space.

Having chased us off the Temple Mount, the drumbeats will inevitably start about the Kotel, the Western Wall, which of course supports their holy Al Aqsa. You can count on it.

Like the proverbial loose thread on a cheap polyester suit, the pulling on Al Aqsa will ultimately lead to an unraveling of the whole Zionist enterprise.

Make no mistake. This is the Palestinian strategic plan. The biggest mistake we can make is to ignore, to diminish it or deny it.

What we need now is clear eyed leadership that understands that the Temple Mount has become the crucible in which the future of Jerusalem and Israel will be shaped.

We must not shirk our history and we cannot endanger our future. We must rise to the challenge.

Terminator Series – Revelation of the Coming A.I. Takeover

By: Jay
I’ll spare you any Arnold impersonations, as The Terminator impersonation is perennially the material of hack comedians. On the contrary, the Terminator series is one of the more profound examples of predictive programming, establishing memes and implanting preparatory ideas comparable to The Matrix. While The Matrix is the classic conspiracy-genre trope for “awakening” to the fraud of the system as a whole, the Terminator series is far more ominous and serious in its foreboding message. Foreboding, because the real shadow government plan is to erect Skynet in reality, and serious because the establishment’s entire paradigm is that of depopulation. Mix the two together, and you get Terminator.  Thus, I have been of the opinion for a few years now that the reason for the erection of A.I., while full of esoteric undertones, is pragmatically about erecting a control grid impervious to human error which will then function as a global human deletion grid.
Past regimes and empires collapsed due to corruption, degeneration and human frailty. What, then, is the one way to avoid this imperial atrophy? The answer is robotics, and removing humans from the equation – the rise of the machines. For this analysis, I am not going to do the traditional scene by scene approach to symbolism: The Terminator series is pretty straightforward. Like a gigantic android middle finger, the Terminator films are a full-frontal example of the long-term plan of the establishment to erect a control grid with human agents out of the loop. I will also look at real white papers and plans that detail this plot, as well as prominent voices who have given this very warning.
In the first installment, we are introduced to an apocalyptic future where an amorphous Skynet has decimated the globe with a nuclear strike intent on wiping out the human population. Here enters Arnold, the T-800 model cyborg assassin, sent back in time to halt the birth of John Connor, the future leader of the human resistance. With archetypal 80s blue lightning, the action commences with a naked Arnold ravaging L.A. in pursuit of Sarah, John’s soon to be mom who gets busy with Kyle Reese, another resistance fighter from the future sent back to give birth to John. I’m not positive, but something there in this plot timeline doesn’t add up – if your future dad comes back in time to conceive you, presumably you could also come back in time to conceive yourself, if you were incestuous. But this brings up a side theme in the Terminator films in addition to A.I. – the issue of determinism, time and free will. Whether the nuclear apocalypse is predestined or whether the time continuum can be altered was a big movie question in the 80s – just ask Marty McFly and the Doc.
Skynet nukes America (think Matthew Broderick in Wargames!) because its “achieving self-awareness” results in a calculated cost-beneft analysis of the threat and uselessness of billions of hominid meatbags. Human reasoning and emotions and frailty give rise to error, and humans might shut down Skynet, ergo they must be eliminated. The essential revelation is not that robotics will evolve consciousness (which is all based on the outdated mechanistic Enlightenment worldview that all of reality is an atomistic causal determinism), but rather that the radical eugenics program of the global elite has morphed into a technocratic transhumanism. Racial and familial eugenics is really a thing of the past – an older form of eugenics that gave way to bioethics and bioengineering. Combined with technocratic futurism, we now have a new paradigm, spun off from the Darwinian and Malthusian models – transhumanism or post-humanism.
T2 film poster.
T2 film poster.

In Terminator 2: Judgment Day, this becomes more evident, as an advanced silver silly putty nanotech T-1000 bot is now on the trail of Connor with a new twist introduced – the future humans have also sent a hacked T-800 Arnold bot to protect John. Debates ensue concerning the ability of free will to change the track of history, blah, blah, but what’s more relevant in the sequel is the statement Arnold makes concerning how Skynet came to be. Arnold reveals that the U.S. military decided to go to a fully A.I. robotic and drone force. Aware readers will recognize that this is now quickly becoming our reality, as numerous publications have reported the Air Force plan to move entirely over to unmanned A.I. drones. The Declassified Air Force A.I. plan for 2009-2047 reads as follows:

“Figure 10 – Long Term – Full Autonomy

The final portfolio step leverages a fully autonomous capability, swarming, and Hypersonic technology to put the enemy off-balance by being able to almost instantaneously create effects throughout the battle space. Technologies to perform auto air refueling, automated maintenance, automatic target engagement, hypersonic flight, and swarming would drive changes across the DOTMLPF-P spectrum. The end result would be a revolution in the roles of humans in air warfare.
4.6.4.1 Long Term (FY25-47) Technology Enablers

Assuming legal and policy decisions allow, technological advances in artificial intelligence will enable UAS to make and execute complex decisions required in this phase of autonomy. Today target recognition technology usually relies on matching specific sensor information with predictive templates of the intended target. As the number of types of targets and environmental factors increase the complexity of and time to complete targeting increases. Further, many targeting algorithms are focused on military equipment. Our enemies today and those we face in the future will find ways to counter our systems. Autonomous targeting systems must be capable of learning and exercising a spectrum of missions useful to the Joint Warfighter. However, humans will retain the ability to change the level of autonomy as appropriate for the type or phase of mission.”

The goal is thus to attain full autonomy, with attack systems functioning to spot targets and threats ahead of time using predictive templates, something like a military version of pre-crime. Just like Minority Report, the decision of Skynet as to who will constitute a future threat and must therefore be eliminated (without any trial or due process) is to be determined by predictive algorithms! The justification of the preemptive iStrike doctrine is, of course, a “wartime scenario,” but all this legalese shuffling around means is all humans are potential threats in a global “wartime scenario.” While the majority of mankind still thinks the battlefield of life is competition between nation states and rival corporations, the globalists have already planned decades ahead in their white papers for scenarios of universal, perpetual war theater engaged against the “insurgent” population of humanity en masse.

In Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, a sexy silver putty nano bot from the future again traverses back in time to hunt John Connor, while Arnold as the older Commodore 64 model returns to be his guardian angel. Both Terminator 2 and 3 include the theme of the A.I. obtaining “self-awareness,” which cheese ball scenes of Arnold and Connor bonding over Arnold beginning to have “feelings.” The entire ethos of A.I. obtaining “consciousness” is itself a nonsensical myth born of Darwinism meets tech, operating on the reductionist, mechanistic, materialist assumption that “consciousness” is nothing more than a more complex evolution of chemical reactions. The final goal with this idea is, as I’ve written, a mirrored, virtual mimicry of our present reality, with a melded bio-organic one.
T3. Skynet should've just sent the hot bot the first time, in the 80s.
T3. Skynet should’ve just sent the hot bot the first time, in the 80s.

This replacement grand narrative is the ultimate Royal Society myth perpetuated for the last few centuries, and almost all collegiate techies and the corporate guru establishment are duped by it. Having bought the propaganda of Terminator, plus T-1000 more hours of Hollywood psy ops, as well as years of standardized education since youth, the training to see “A.I.” bots as “alive” is a now a reflexive action to decades of conditioning (think of the sympathy we are to feel for “David” in Spielberg and Kubrick’s A.I.). Myths need a future, millennialist component, as well as a grand narrative explanation for the past, and Darwinism melded with techno-utopianism is a perfect concoction for modern man, with perhaps a little panspermia thrown in for good measure. However, while a “living” A.I. consciousness may not be obtainable, as JC Collins has elucidated, and as I commented, a synthetic, a spontaneous data-driven subconscious might be possible through the collection of mass data via the Internet and social media over long periods of time.

William Bradford and Plymouth Plantation

William Bradford and Plymouth Plantation
William Bradford attended two schools: the school of hard knocks, and the school of Christ. He lost his father at sixteen months old. Shortly after that, he was sent to live first with a grandfather and then with other relatives. He became a devout student of the Bible when just twelve, reading it through. When he was seventeen, he joined a group that wanted to pull out of the Church of England.

Betrayed as he attempted to leave England, he was thrown into prison. But when he was twenty, Bradford left England in the company of other Separatists and settled down to hard work as a weaver in the Netherlands. Well-read, he became a leader of the Pilgrims who sailed to Plymouth in 1620.
The voyage to the New World was stormy. Intending to sail to Virginia, the Pilgrims blew off course and found themselves in New England. Their instructions from the Virginia company did not anticipate this changed circumstance, and so William Bradford, with other leaders, drew up and signed the Mayflower Compact.

They had named John Carver their governor. But Carver "came out of the field very sick, it being a hot day. He complained greatly of his head and lay down, and within a few hours his senses failed, so as he never spake more till he died, which was within a few days after (April 5, 1621)." On this day, April 21, 1621, the colonists chose William Bradford as Carver's replacement. He proved to be a gentle but firm ruler and served thirty one-year terms. This was not by his own choice. He rejoiced on the few occasions when someone else could be convinced to take a term.

Thanks to Bradford's high position and his persistent early efforts to educate himself, he was well-equipped to write a history of the plantation. He completed this in 1651, six years before his death. In it he gives the reasons why the Pilgrims felt it necessary to leave Leyden for the New World. One was the Pilgrim's concern for their children, who were not only crushed by hard labor but were drawn away from Christ by the temptations of their adopted city, and "drawn away by evil examples into extravagant and dangerous courses."

But the Pilgrims' paramount reason for transplanting to the New World was "a great hope and inward zeal they had of laying some good foundation, or at least to make some way thereunto, for the propagating and advancing the gospel of the kingdom of Christ in those remote parts of the world--yea, though they should be but even stepping stones unto others for the performing of so great a work."

The Legend of the Green Children of Woolpit

April Holloway
Ancient Origins
© Wikipedia
The ruins of the Abbey of Bury St. Edmunds

The Children of Woolpit is an ancient account dating back to the 12th century, which tells of two children that appeared on the edge of a field in the village of Woolpit in England. The young girl and boy had green-hued skin and spoke an unknown language. The children became sick and the boy died, but the girl recovered and over the years came to learn English. She later relayed the story of their origins, saying they came from a place called St Martin's Land, which existed in an atmosphere of permanent twilight, and where the people lived underground. While some view the story as a folk tale that that describes an imaginary encounter with inhabitants of another world beneath our feet or even extraterrestrial, others accept it as a real, but somewhat altered account of a historical event that merits further investigation.

The account is set in the village of Woolpit located in Suffolk, East Anglia. In the Middle Ages, it lay within the most agriculturally productive and densely populated area of rural England. The village had belonged to the rich and powerful Abbey of Bury St. Edmunds.

The story was recorded by two 12th century chroniclers - Ralph of Coggestall (died c 1228 AD), an abbot of a Cistercian monastery at Coggeshall (about 26 miles / 42 km south of Woolpit), who recorded his account of the green children in the Chronicon Anglicanum (English Chronicle); and William of Newburgh (1136-1198 AD), an English historian and canon at the Augustinian Newburgh Priory, far to the north in Yorkshire, who includes the story of the green children in his main work Historia rerum Anglicarum (History of English Affairs). The writers stated that the events took place within the reign of King Stephen (1135-54) or King Henry II (1154-1189), depending on which version of the story you read.

According to the account of the green children, a boy and his sister were found by reapers working their fields at harvest time near some ditches that had been excavated to trap wolves at St Mary's of the Wolf Pits (Woolpit). Their skin was tinged with a green hue, their clothes were made from unfamiliar materials, and their speech was unintelligible to the reapers. They were taken to the village, where they were eventually accepted into the home of local landowner, Sir Richard de Caine at Wilkes.

The children would not eat any food presented to them but appeared starving. Eventually, the villagers brought round recently harvested beans, which the children devoured. They survived only on beans for many months until they acquired a taste for bread.

The boy became sick and soon succumbed to illness and died, while the girl remained in good health and eventually lost her green-tinged skin. She learned how to speak English and was later married to a man at King's Lynn, in the neighboring county of Norfolk. According to some accounts, she took the name 'Agnes Barre' and the man she married was an ambassador of Henry II, although these details have not been verified. After she learned how to speak English, she relayed the story of their origins.

A Strange Underground Land

The girl reported that she and her brother came from the "Land of Saint Martin", where there was no sun, but a perpetual twilight, and all the inhabitants were green like them. She described another 'luminous' land that could be seen across a river.

She and her brother were looking after their father's flock, when they came upon a cave. They entered the cave and wandered through the darkness for a long time until they came out the other side, entering into bright sunlight, which they found startling. It was then that they were found by the reapers.

Ferguson: This isn't a revolution, it's the same old divide and conquer technique used throughout history

Tony Cartalucci
Activist Post
When faced on the battlefield with a numerically superior enemy, one must attempt to divide his enemy into smaller, more easily dispatched opponents - or even more ideally, divide them against one another, and have them defeat each other without ever drawing your sword. For Wall Street's 0.1%, divide and conquer is a way of life.

Divide and Conquer

Never in human history has there been a more effective way for tyrants to rule over large groups of people who, should they ever learn to cooperate, would easily throw off such tyranny.
Zululand

Zululand lies in flaming ruins.
At the conclusion of the Anglo-Zulu War, the British despoiled Zululand, divided it into 14 separate chiefdoms, each led by a proxy obedient to the British Empire. The British ensured that these 14 chiefdoms harbored animosities toward one another and fostered petty infighting between them to ensure British interests would never again be challenged by a unified Zulu threat. Before the British, the Romans would employ similar tactics across Germania and Gaul.

In this way, the British Empire and the Romans managed to not only decimate their enemies, but by keeping them perpetually infighting, divided, and at war with one another, manged to keep them subservient to imperial rule for generations.

But one would be mistaken to believe that imperialism is only waged abroad. Imperialism is as much about manipulating, controlling, and perpetuating subservience at home as it is projecting hegemony abroad. For the imperialist, all of humanity represents a sea of potential usurpers. The systematic division, weakening, and subjugation of various social groups along political, religious, class, or racial lines has proven an ageless solution for the elite.

One remembers the infamous use of Christians as a scapegoat for the corruption of Roman Emperor Nero, deflecting public anger away from the ruling elite and unto others among the plebeians.

This is a game that has continued throughout the centuries and continues on to this very day. While racial, religious, and political divisions are aspects of human nature, they are viciously exploited by the ruling elite to divide and destroy any capacity of the general public to organize, resist, or compete with established sociopolitical and economic monopolies.

Ferguson - Playing America Like a Fiddle

Ferguson protests

Ferguson fire.
Before protests began breaking out in Ferguson, Missouri, and even after the first of the protests in August, many across America's polarized "left/right" paradigm began to find a common ground, shocked at the level of militarization the police had undergone and the heavy-handed response they exercised amid protests. Even among the generally pro-police and military "right," there was concern over what was finally recognized as a growing and quite menacing "police state" in America.

Politicians, the corporate media, and security agencies set off to work, dividing America's public down very predictable lines. Convenient "revelations" that the police were connected with the ultra-racist Ku Klux Klan, coupled with growing choruses across the right to circle the wagons in support of the militarized police attempted to place those who converged on this common ground back into their assigned places on the "right" and "left" of America's ultimately Wall Street-controlled political order.

Regardless of its success, attempts to intentionally provoke violence, confusion, and division on both sides is an attempt by the establishment to keep people divided and weak while maintaining their position of primacy over the country and the expansive "international order" it imposes globally. It was this establishment, in fact, that intentionally militarized the police, intentionally cultivates both institutional racism as well as sociopolitical and economic rot in America's inner cities, creating breeding grounds of violence and crime. So busy is America managing the predictable conflict amongst themselves, they have neither the time nor the energy to recognize their true tormentors.

In reality, the police and protesters and those across America and around the world "picking sides" have more in common with one another than the government and corporate-financier interests that reign in Washington and on Wall Street.

William Cowper, Depressed Hymn Writer

William Cowper, Depressed Hymn Writer
God...
...moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform;
He plants His footsteps in the sea
And rides upon the storm.
William Cowper, who wrote that hymn, was born in England on this day, November 26, l73l. His life was full of personal anguish. At five, his mother died, and Cowper, a timid and sensitive child, was treated with great cruelty by an older boy. Other school experiences were also painful. At eighteen William began to study law, and fell in love with his cousin Theodora Cowper, but her father did not approve of the match. Neither of them ever married.

After completing law studies he made little exertion in the field. Later he was offered a government position for which he would have to be examined. William was so terrified of having to answer questions that he worked himself into a fit of madness. At one point, he became so despondent that he attempted suicide. After time in a private asylum, he recovered his reason. Cowper moved to the country town of Olney, where John Newton, the ex-slaver, was pastor. Soon they were close friends.
In 1771, Newton, became concerned with Cowper's increasing melancholy. Hoping to lift his spirits by keeping him busy, Newton suggested that he and Cowper co-author a book of hymns. Newton himself often wrote hymns to illustrate his Sunday sermons. "Amazing Grace" is one of the 280 hymns he wrote for the Olney Hymns. Cowper wrote 68 of the hymns, including "Oh for a closer walk with God," "God moves in a mysterious way," and "There is a fountain filled with blood."

The Olney Hymns first introduced Cowper to the world. Cowper kept writing poetry and became famous. He is considered one of the founders of the English Romantic movement. His "John Gilpin" is a children's favorite. In his best work, "The Task" Cowper continues to praise his Creator. He once said that of all the gifts God gives to us, God, Himself, is the greatest. However, as he neared death, his melancholic mental state reasserted itself and he became convinced that he was one of the souls that his rigorous Calvinist upbringing had taught were predestined to damnation. A poem titled "The Castaway" vividly illustrates his apprehensions.

Dr. John Brandenburg Proposes Ancient War on Mars - Just as NASA Releases Photo of Man-Made Objects on Mars

The title is correct....no kidding....NASA just released a photo from the rover Opportunity...then Dr. Brandenburg proposed his hypothesis, based in part on the object released.  So what is NASA up to?  Time will tell...notice the "gear" or "bathtub handle" on the lower right...

http://mars.jpl.nasa.gov/mer/gallery/all/1/m/3720/1M458433044EFFCEQKP2955M2M1.HTML
by

Dr. John Brandenburg, a physicist with impeccable credentials (See John E. Brandenburg Ph.D.), and whom I had the pleasure of meeting some years ago at a conference where he outlined a fascinating unified field theory, has outlined a new theory hypothesizing the use of nuclear weapons on Mars in an ancient interplanetary war:
Scientist Says Aliens Nuked Martians and We May be Next
To his credit, Dr. Brandenburg long ago drew attention to the curious presence of high amounts of Xenon-129 on Mars, a product of fission bombs. But this latest hypothesis appears to be a much more broadly-based hypothesis, drawing on a variety of data:
“Dr. Brandenburg has previously theorized that the red color of Mars and the radioactive substances in its soil are the result of a thermonuclear explosion from natural causes. He now says that the “high concentration” of Xenon-129 in the Martian atmosphere and uranium and thorium on the surface are remnants of two unnatural nuclear explosions, most likely triggered by alien invaders.
“Who were these aliens invading and eventually wiping out? Brandenburg believes Mars once had a climate like Earth and was inhabited by two civilizations – one in a region called Cydonia Mensa and another at Galaxias Chaos. Why these two regions?
‘Analysis of new images from Odyssey, MRO and Mars Express orbiters now show strong evidence of eroded archeological objects at these sites.'”

Kingsley Preached the Meteor Shower

Kingsley Preached the Meteor Shower
Charles Kingsley is remembered as a minor English novelist of the Victorian era. Those concerned with the plight of the poor find his novel Alton Locke a powerful work. Children meet his writing in a fairy tale, The Water Babies, which was an indictment of the cruelty done to chimney sweeps. Deeply concerned with the plight of those who suffer, a persistent theme in Kingsley's work was an insistence that the universe is not a heartless place. What he taught in books, he repeated in sermons.
For Charles Kingsley was a minister in the Church of England. In July 1842, he became curate of Eversley Church in Hampshire and remained there the rest of his life. His sermons were not all preached in Eversley, however.

On this day, November 26, 1866, Kingsley preached a sermon at the Chapel Royal, St. James's. He named his sermon "The Meteor Shower." The text was Christ's words, recorded in Matthew 10:29, 30. "Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are numbered."

Naturalistic science, said Kingsley, had replaced superstition with "laws." But laws must imply a lawgiver. "Science frees us in many ways (and all thanks to her) from the bodily terror which the savage feels. But she replaces that, in the minds of many, with a moral terror which is far more overwhelming." If nature is merely the result of chance events, life is at bottom meaningless. "Tell us not that the world is governed by universal law; the news is not comfortable but simply horrible, unless you can tell us...that there is a loving giver, and a just administrator of that law."

The laws of nature govern the movements of the earth and governed the stones it encountered in a meteor shower a few days earlier. "But did the thought occur to none of us, how morally ghastly, in spite of all its physical beauty, was that grand sight, unless we were sure that behind it all, there was a living God? Unless we believed that not one of those bolts fell, or did not fall to the ground, without our Father?"

A loving father means that even deadly events-- sparrows falling-- had meaning. "Let us believe in our Father in heaven. For then that higher intellect-- that pure reason, which dwells not in the heads, but in the hearts of men, will tell them that if they have a Father in heaven, He must be exercising a special providence over the minutest affairs of their lives, by which He is striving to educate them into His likeness; a special providence over the fate of every atom in the universe, by which His laws shall work together for the moral improvement of every creature capable thereof; that not a sparrow can fall to the ground without his knowledge; and that not a hair of their head can be touched, unless suffering is needed for the education of their souls."

William Bradford and the First Thanksgiving

The First Thanksgiving by Brownscombe
Copyright 2001 by Pilgrim Hall Museum
As was the custom in England, the Pilgrims celebrated their harvest with a festival. The 50 remaining colonists and roughly 90 Wampanoag tribesmen attended the "First Thanksgiving."
The major similarity between the first Jamestown settlers and the first Plymouth settlers was great human suffering.

November was too late to plant crops. Many settlers died of scurvy and malnutrition during that horrible first winter. Of the 102 original Mayflower passengers, only 44 survived. Again like in Jamestown, the kindness of the local Native Americans saved them from a frosty death.

The Pilgrims' remarkable courage was displayed the following spring. When the Mayflower returned to Europe, not a single Pilgrim deserted Plymouth.

Helping Hands

Massasoit's treaty with the Pilgrams
Massasoit, chief of the Wampanoag tribe, signed a treaty with the Pilgrams in 1621, that was never broken. As a result, the two groups enjoyed a peaceful coexistence.
By early 1621, the Pilgrims had built crude huts and a common house on the shores of Plymouth Bay. Soon neighboring Indians began to build relations with the Pilgrims. Squanto, a local Indian who had been kidnapped and taken to England nearly a decade before, served as an interpreter with the local tribes. Squanto taught the Pilgrims to fertilize the soil with dried fish remains to produce a stellar corn crop.

Massasoit, the chief of the nearby Wampanoags, signed a treaty of alliance with the Pilgrims in the summer. In exchange for assistance with defense against the feared Narragansett tribe, Massasoit supplemented the food supply of the Pilgrims for the first few years.

Governor Bradford

Pilgrim
The modern conception of a Pilgrim might include a man in a black hat with a buckle, but not all of the original settlers of Plymouth County fit this description.
Successful colonies require successful leadership. The man to step forward in Plymouth colony was William Bradford. After the first governor elected under the Mayflower Compact perished from the harsh winter, Bradford was elected governor for the next thirty years. In May of 1621, he performed the colony's first marriage ceremony.

Under Bradford's guidance, Plymouth suffered less hardship than their English compatriots in Virginia. Relations with the local natives remained relatively smooth in Plymouth and the food supply grew with each passing year.

By autumn of 1621, the Pilgrims had much for which to be thankful. After the harvest, Massasoit and about ninety other Indians joined the Pilgrims for the great English tradition of Harvest Festival. The participants celebrated for several days, dining on venison, goose, duck, turkey, fish, and of course, cornbread, the result of a bountiful corn harvest. This tradition was repeated at harvest time in the following years.

It was President Lincoln who declared Thanksgiving a national celebration in 1863. The Plymouth Pilgrims simply celebrated survival, as well as the hopes of good fortune in the years that lay ahead.

Arabian Christians Massacred

Arabian Christians Massacred
In the sixth century, the nation of Abyssinia (modern Ethiopia) dominated the kingdoms of Himyar and Yemen on the southern Arabian peninsula. There were flourishing Christian churches in the area (also known as Homerites) which looked to Christian Abyssinia for protection.

It happened that a Himyarite Jew, Yusuf As'ar (better known by nicknames referring to his braids or ponytail: Dhu Nuwas, Dzu Nuwas, Dounaas, or Masruq), seized the throne from his king and revolted against Abyssinia, seeking to throw the Ethiopians out of the country. He captured an Ethiopian garrison at Zafar and burned the church there and burned other Christian churches.
Christians were strongest at the North Yemen city called Najran (sometimes spelled Nagran or Nadjran). Dhu Nuwas attacked it. The Christians held the town with desperate valor. Dhu Nuwas found he could not capture it. And so he resorted to treachery. He swore that he would grant the Christians of Najran full amnesty if they would surrender. The Christians, knowing they could not hold out forever, yielded against the advice of their leader Arethas (Aretas or Harith).

What happened next was so appalling that Bishop Simeon of Beth Arsham (a Syrian) traveled to the site to interview eyewitnesses and write a report. "The Jews amassed all the martyr's bones and brought them into the church where they heaped them up. They then brought in the priests, deacons, subdeacons, readers, and sons and daughters of the covenant...they filled the church from wall to wall, some 2,000 persons according to the men who came from Najran; then they piled wood all round the outside of the church and set light to it, thus burning the church with everyone inside it."
In the ensuing week, hundreds more Christians were martyred, among them many godly women, who were killed with the most horrible tortures when they refused to renounce Christ. According to Simeon, many were told "Deny Christ and the cross and become Jewish like us; then you shall live."
Versions differ as to date, but one says that it was on this day, November 25, 523, Dhu Nuwas took his vengeance on Arethas and 340 followers, killing them. These men were quickly included in martyr lists in the Greek, Latin and Russian churches. A song was even written about them by one Johannes Psaltes, although it reports only about 200 deaths.

Other accounts written within a century add that deep pits were dug, filled with combustible material, and set afire. Christians who refused to change faiths were hurled into the flame, thousands dying in this painful martyrdom. Some think that this is the event that the Koran refers to when it says, "Cursed be the diggers of the trench, who lighted the consuming fire and sat around it to watch the faithful being put to the torture!" although Muslim commentators deny this.

A wealthy lady named Ruhm was compelled to watch her virgin daughter and granddaughter executed and to taste their blood before she was killed herself. Asked how the blood tasted, she answered, "Like a pure, spotless offering."

When word reached Constantinople, the Roman Emperor encouraged the Ethiopian king Ellesbaas (Ella Atsbeha or Kaleb) to intervene, as did the Patriarch of Alexandra. Ellesbaas was only too willing to do so, since his garrisons had been massacred and fellow Christians killed. He destroyed Dhu Nuwas and established a Christian kingdom. An Ethiopian-Jewish writing known as the Kebra Nagast regarded the downfall of Dhu Nuwas to be the final catastrophe for the Kingdom of Judah. Another Ethiopian book told the story of the massacre under the title The Book of the Himyarites.
